No.
You have to plug off the oil port on the carb and remove the drive gear or the entire pump. Running the pump dry can cause problems with your engine.

It's really not that difficult to do. You can get the drive gear off pretty fast if you choose not to remove the whole pump. Just takes a second to put a vacuum cap on the oil inlet of the carb.

I was able to remove the oil pump without removing the flywheel but I had to bend the outlet nipple on the pump rendering the pump useless but who cares? Once removed I took the gear off the pump and re-installed it in the case to keep debris from blowing into the crank seal area.

went to take the oil stuff off but mine looked totally different. here is a link to my pictures of it s1022.photobucket.com/albums/af347/mike3367/scooters/?mediafilter=images.. im hoping all i have to do is take off the rod and put back on the top to seal the motor up and cap off the oil inlet. if so by looking at my pictures i was thinking my motor was the 1E40QMB. but im beginning to think not no. thanks for all your help

That's odd. I did some searching and everyone says they are Yamaha/Minarelli (1E40QMB) clones. That's not the normal oil pump, flywheel, or pickup/stator setup though from what I can see in your pics. The transmission looks like it could be a longcase minarelli with a fancy CVT cover that makes it look different, but it's hard to say for sure. The cylinder looks like it very well may be a 1E40 setup, but once again who knows for sure by just looking? They are supposed to be Taiwanese, so perhaps they put a little time into making it unique? Sadly, unique could be a bad thing when you are looking for parts or info.

Didn't know you had to remove the oil pump as well. What kind of issues are we talking here?

That's a weird engine. Are there any numbers stamped on the case anywhere? Sometimes the numbers are on the rear of the gear box
Can you remove the gear from the pump shaft or the entire shaft and re-install it?
It looks like that hole goes into the crankcase/fuel area

Looking at the diagram, I'm noticing other differences. Maybe soemone that's seen more 2Ts than me will know what you've got for sure.
A stock cylinder will probably like a 1000 or 1500 RPM contra. I'd hold off on ordering that or the sliders until you know what fits for sure though.

Was it having problems before you removed the oil pump or just after? Might wanna go back and make sure you didn't disconnect anything. Check for spark.
