Easy way to break a tire bead, lay scooter tire on something to keep the wheel from getting scuffed on bottom..I used 2 short 2x4's .. Next I put next to my wife's car with bead about a foot or so away from car. Next set a piece of decking board (about 6" long) on the bead then I used about a 6' 2x4 on top of decking board and under the edge of the car to create a wedge and now push down works really well, sorry I didnt take any pics but my new Michelin pilot sport looks awesome!

I actually just run the old tire ocer with the cage
We used to do this in the army use antoher truck to run over the tire s

that would be a good prize lol I needa vice but i use a big C clamp like whats used in wood working n just screw it down  vice prob be easiest way though |

I have to vote for the vice. I picked up one of these Zyliss clamp on vises at a yard sale for $10 a few years ago. Works perfect. It's aluminum.  |

I didn't have a vise but plan to get 1. This works very well though if your in a pinch.

Can anyone help with how to put the new one on? i use a ratcheting tie strap; get tire on rim first, then run the strap all the way around the center of the tread. ratchet it down, it will push the sidewalls out toward the rim. then hit it with compressed air, once the bead pops, let most of the pressure back out, and with the ratchet facing away from you (and your face etc) release the strap, then reair it up. sometimes have to roll the tire a bit with the strap tightened down, to massage the tire and bead into the right position to seat. i have seated a tire with an emergency roadside compressor this way, it took several minutes of massaging to get it started with such little pressure but it seated up. |
