case boring tool is for the bore of the engine it removes the material to accept bigger cylinders not boring holes in your cvt cover.
some people drill holes above the rear pulley and front of the variator to allow airflow. but think of where rain and mud can get in and stay away from those areas.

or if you can work it in, drill a hole in the fan cover about 1in and connect a hose from it to the cvt and youll have a forced air cooled cvt

I use a drill and a carbide burr then file to finish whatever shape and sandpaper to smooth the edges.

I am thinking about this myself, once the CVT gets hot it kills the take off. I'm thinking about opening up both ends so air will pass straight through the cover, maybe some kind of scoop on the front and some screen wire to keep debris out.

I cut between reinforcements on my Zuma cover... looks pretty good ! I haven't put many times to make perfect lines, but well... unless you know it, you won't notice it

Fine without, but when this cover was on the Zuma I used some door mesh grille to cover the holes because kids at school liked to put crap everywhere they could on the scooters. I drilled holes on the corners and used a dremel buffer to make the lines.
