Whelp it's been almost 4 months since i've updated anything here. I just had some parts come in and did a little work on ol Brewzy today. My cylinder gasket was leaking so I got Hoca cylinder and head gaskets and went to town. I installed a new kevlar belt, 1500rpm torque spring, 2000rpm clutch springs, "performance" variator w/ 5gram weights, new spark plug and put my "performance" CDI back in. Here are some photos I took. Let me know what you guys think.
BEFORE: AFTER: Some others I took Piston Head Spark Plug PCV from scrappydogs
All apart: Afterthoughts: Went for a test ride and definitely needed some heavier weights, it was revving wayy too high with the 5g's. I took out 3 of the 5g's and added 3 8.5g's which makes for 6.75g weights and it ran a lot better however i just need to lighten them to probably 6g's tomorrow as it was accelerating around 7000rpms (ran out of day light). Also, one thing that has been bothering me is the back wheel spins quite a bit on the initial start and i have to hold the rear break or it will literally pull me until it warms up, this is why I upgraded to the 2000rpm clutch springs but it still does the same thing. Any thoughts as to what this could be? Idling around 2000rpm but when it first starts it gets pretty high around 3300rpm. Also I took the seat out after a few rides and noticed there was oil being slung on the bottom of the seat... sigh another project for tomorrow after work I guess. I couldn't tell what it was coming from, the gaskets looked fine and i didn't see any oil around them but it was all over the carb too. I also smelled some gas.

Turn your idle speed down. Should be 1,500rpm's. One of my 4t's was doing the same thing, idling too high and the clutch was grabbing at a stand-still.

Hmm, ok i will try that. I always thought they should idle around 2k so i may have been going about it wrong. I replaced the valve cover today and that seemed to be my oil leak. Took it out for a few test rides and knew something wasn't right, found out my intake manifold and my manifold gasket were cracked. le sigh. time to order some replacements, im going to see if i can find an aluminum one.

My 2t had no gasket on the intake. Drove me crazy trying to keep the thing running.

So i was messing with the clutch today and scratching my head about how come ever since i've upgraded the clutch springs (1500rpm and 2000rpm springs) that my back wheel spins at a low idle, even when it's warmed up. I took out the 2k springs and put he stock ones back in and realized that the stock springs seemed shorter and had tension on the clutch shoes even when the bike was off. with the 1500rpm and 2000rpm i think they were too long and causing the shoes to open up too soon thus making my wheel spin. here is a pic showing the difference. I think the 1500's and 2000's springs were actually too thick too and it wasn't clipped all the way in because it was making too much contact with the shoe.
I was unable to test it out today but i'll post back tomorrow after a ride and see the results.

Definitely the wrong springs. Those are for a different engine. I guess I didn't pay much attention before, but looking up at the pics they look huge installed.
