Went to start the car and it did, then it died  . "WTF, it never does that. Ahh, must be the heat." I try again, nothing this time. I remember the wife saying she just filled it up so im thinking, "great i need a new fuel pump". I pop the hood and walk around and open it to the smell of electronics burning   ! I do a real quick scope as my hand is twisting the battery cable trying to get it off. Ahhhh F*CK*NG SH!T, D*ANG THE D^MB, SH!T F%CK. The EDIS module is smoking   ! I got the battery cable off and at this point im thinking, "im not gonna find that this weekend lol, and just shut the hood and let the whole situation rooolll off my back till now.... . Anyone know were to get one cheap? Its my 5th stang but the first one with EDIS and 8 plugs on a fourcylinder |

If you want it cheap, you're probably gonna have to call some local junkyards. I didn't see anything on eBay even.

Last summer i took the silly air silencer off and put the PVC pipe in that you see in the bottom pic on the right. Below that you can see the ex. manifold with the factory pre-heater tube or whatever you want to call it. I had the factory flex hose still on it, pointed down so the heat would be diverted away from the electronics and the air inlet to the throttle body. I noticed it was gone after an alignment a few months back. Yet another reason i HATE taking my stuff anywere to get work! The mechanic probably saw that hose and pulled it off thinking he was doing me a favor. Im not saying that caused the problem, but heat wont help  |

Always search for the PN if you have it.
Last time I took my 'stang for an alignment I hung around while it was done and rode with the guy on the test drive. I told him before the car was pulled in that I was coming and hanging around or I was finding somewhere that would let me ride. I hate people watching and I won't let people watch me work, but I had no desire for anyone to mess with anything or joy ride my car. Looking at the car, they understood. At the dyno, well they are there to run it hard and see fast stuff everyday. You never know when you let some dude at a regular shop hop in. May be the best mechanic and driver ever, may be a moron. One shop owner almost wrecked a friend's 70 Chevelle. Did a burnout in front of him and I one day and laughed about it. His employees were even worse than him and would throw rocks and hit cars when they spun tires in any customer car they got (from a prism to a vette).

The car has been running funny lately. I did a tune-up, plugs wires, coil packs, DIS mod. filters, blaa, blaa, and it ran better but still had this funny spell. Hard to explain, like a switch it would idle rough and loose power. Then all the sudden, like a switch it would run great for awhile.
I was thinking o2 and egr. I pulled checked and cleaned the egr so im gonna get the EDIS and a new o2, and pull that heat plate off the manifold while im at it :cheers: . Thanks fellas!

If its not raining in the morning she probably will take Skeedr.
I got the part today(a buddy with a 93notch) along with a new fan, and im gonna get a O2 in the morning.

Wish i had $800 handy  ! I could have the whole car for that. Its a pretty nice 93LX Notchback too. The cars are actually starting to get rare. If you woulda told me this in the 1990,s i woulda laughed at you. Back then you couldnt go a day without seeing one. I never understood why there were so many Mustangs on the road back then. Thats is until i got my hands on one, then i got it lol. He is really just letting me borrow the Engine PC until the one from ebay arrives. I want the whole car tho...I think im gonna see if we cant work something out? Its red with black interior. I can just about give you a rundown of the cars whole life, i know it so well. |
