I actually do move the lever until there is resistance before kicking. I have broke them in various ways. It usually happened when it wouldn't start for some reason and eventually I would get mad and kick it hard after the electric start got weak. So basically stupidity. lol My kick lever is maybe 2:30.

I stuck the Bando belt on the SunL and took it for a 30 mile ride yesterday morning. The belt looked like new. I did have one issue, but it was my fault and not belt related. The crankcase breather had came off and I figured it would be fine for one ride. Not really. It spits out plenty of oil... After getting that cleaned up, my father and I took a 20 mile ride with no issues. It was actually pretty nice riding just before dark on the 4th because everyone else was gone to see fireworks. There was next to no traffic where we were. I ended up riding another 40 miles on the SunL from 11:30 till 1AM. Still no issues. I have barely even heard spark knock. I'm still gonna pull it back apart before long and take a little more out of the head to be safe and maybe get my timing back to stock instead of retarded, but I had no issues in 90 miles yesterday. I even got a short race in last night. I was heading by a McDonalds where some of the kids here hangout and there were 2 probably 16 year old guys sitting out there with there scooters running. As I always do to other scooters, I revved it up at them. I carreid on through the long parking lot (1/2 mile stretch) one of them went past me tucked down. I sped up and caught up to him (surprising considered a-it's the SunL, b-he's 100lbs and I'm 300lbs, and c-he gave me a flyby so he was already 5MPH faster than me). He looked back like he was expecting to see me way back or something and then tucked down again when he saw my on his six. There are 2 sharp turns toward the exit and he stuck his leg out like a motard racer and dove into the first turn. I just sat normal and followed him through pretty easily. Then he turned to head back toward his friends before the 2nd turn and the exit. He probably went back and told them he blew me away, but in reality a fat man on his slowest scooter kept up with ease. I looped around again later and piped them again, but no one came out to play that time. Right now I'm getting cruising speeds between 36.5 and 41MPH depending on conditions and a max of 44.52 MPH. That lead me to do something stupid. I bought the Naraku upgears from Jeremy since they were 20% off for a 4th of July promotion. Every time I say I'm giving up I get a decent result and want to see if I can push it farther. I'm telling you, this tuning stuff is a dangerous drug. I'm curious if I have reached a fat man's limits or if I really can hit a real 50MPH with a 300lb rider with a good street setup. I think the big valve head and 150cc intake and carb do the absolute best, but I think the guide in that head is screwed up and the valve is bent. Still, I did 45.41 with the big vavles and big carb/intake and 44.52 with the stocker modded, stock vavles, modded stock intake/carb. So yeah, back on topic.... I think the cheap belts were the biggest factor here. I did have some other issues, but I would say the belts were the most to blame. Thank you to everyone for the suggestions. If I start snapping Bandos prematurely I'll be asking again.

Haha. I try to follow other scooters and get them to race me, but it's really not much fun considering I keep up with them and pass with very little throttle. I like to think that maybe I'm inspiring people to make their scooters faster. I tried to talk to one guy on a CPI Popcorn stock but he didn't speak much english and the light turned green - I didn't feel like waiting for him. I rev my engine all the time. I don't even think about it until I do it when pulling up for gas or something and everyone is just looking at me like "wtf?". I also just sounds beautiful to me so I enjoy it. It's not like I'm always trying to show off, but don't get me wrong - sometimes I am.
Interested to hear about your new gears and what they do for you.

I was browsing Haynes manual 10452 for scooters.
Under Variator, installation. Page 6-6. Paragraph 22. "Measure the distance between the crankcase face and the edge of the outer pulley half, then rotate the crankshaft and repeat the measuring procedure several times to ensure the outer pulley half is not skewed."
Under drivebelt, inspection. Page 6-7. Paragraph 3. "Large amount of dust or debris inside the cover is an indication of abnormal wear and the cause, such as high spots on the pulleys or the pulleys running out of alignment, should be inspected."
Haynes manuals are not always right, but often give good advice. :scoot:
