Hey guys,

Basically i am starting this thread to keep all of my projects in one place.  I have that many bikes coming and going and being fixed or built at once that i start threads then dont get back to them for ages and lose them or sell the bike or whatever, or some times i dont start a thread if the bike isnt a long termer so im starting this thread as like an ongoing thing where ill update on what bikes are coming and going and what is getting done to them and my long term builds too.  So you will have seen some of these before but everything is going in this thread now.  Must remember to sub it so i dont lose it lmao!

Picked up this 83 Honda Melody at the weekend.  Plastics etc all off it but i have everything.  Its in rough shape, pics make it look better actually lmao forks are totally shot but most other parts could be reconditioned. 

So far i took the tanks off to clean and exhaust off as was missing bolts need to find matching ones and carb off and apart for cleaning

Coil and plug lead are missing though?  There is no plug cap/lead on it and cant find a coil where it would have come from?
A load of wiring was disconnected also when i got it, thinking about stripping the loom out of the way and just wiring it so it will run for starters.  If i cant get it started im just going to break it.

Dont want to spend any money on it yet though so need to find a coil i can use for free.  Maybe a lawnmower one if its 12v would work?  My mate has a couple of spare bike engines lying around too so might try and borrow one from him



Also the carb has all these pipes going to this weird manifold thing im not sure what it is for i will upload a pic later.

the coil and lead and plug cap were missing off the melody so I removed flywheel and traced the wire from the magneto then attached a cg125 coil my mate had lying around from an old bike. kicked it over and had mega spark so I cleaned the carb and put it back on and attached a bottle of premix. It started first kick!!! thats honda for you this thing hasnt been run in well over a decade not even started at all. only issue was I had to drill out the flywheel fan screws and carb bowl screws and replace.

have an issue with damaged exhaust flange will post a pic.

plan for the melody is get it road legal for under 100 total investment.

I want to go premix and convert to a non vacuum operated fuel tap also. should I remove and block all the vacuum lines or just leave them and only do the oil feed line.

I'd ditch all the lines you can when you switch over. To me keeping lines around that have no purpose just creates clutter and opportunities for future vacuum leaks.

Updates this week, I purchased a set of newer H100S forks for my H100A they need new seals and a wee tidy though.

Painted some mags for me red Puch



And had this barn find for 25 hours, pretty quick sale!

That Honda is old, but it looks all there. There was one on eBay a while ago real early one running going for about £2,500

it was all there except wrong engine in it that a 50 engine but the bike a 90, bit rough though lol

yeah they are worth a lot these older ones if it had been a different model of bike in that condition wouldnt have had it

So the other weekend i picked up this 1981 express deluxe with only 1500 miles on it, needs a new rear tyre, battery, air filter and carb setting up and exhaust bracket bent back out as it has been pushed in and exhaust is touching the axle. i have already bought all parts to fix it so will get at it shortly.

Also my mate gave me his stolen recovered yamaha slider which as you may imagine needs a little fixing up after being nicked and used in a robbery, i will put a pic of it up later

My wife had one of those, but it did not have the leg shields. I have a Slider, it has not been used in a robbery, but looks like it!

the leg shield is because it is 'deluxe' I think lol

my slider is hotwired and missing all fairings and lights but runs hope to get a lock set fix wiring score panels on ebay and get her rockin I have wanted a slider for ages. its actually an mbk one. have u pics of yours

dont think so lol it looks like that when ya see it from the side but sure its blocked at the front so the air doesnt even make it that far

Hey guys sorry for lack of updates been pretty hectic with work and personal stuff lately.

Planning to update with pics and some vids on the youtube channel i just set up.

Just a quick update, the puchs i havent been near, the stalker is getting parted out i think.

I gave the melody to my mate and we're working on it.

The wee express is near ready for the road, the wheel has been trued i just need to pick it up and fit the new tyre, have resprayed exhaust and fixed the broken rear indicator bracket and sourced another black indicator for the back as one was white and one black couldnt get another white so gonna have to have white fronts and black rears. Also fixed the main beam indicator light on dash as it was busted and fell down inside the housing. The post where the screw goes in had snapped.

So the more exciting news, just got home with a Beta ARK its in good nick overall but has a shitty 12mm carb and a non-brand power pipe on it. I have only messed with it for about an hour and fixed a few bodges that were on it but havent got it started yet, when you kick it over it doesnt start but if you give it throttle and kick it then it backfires through the exhaust.

I dont know if you got these in the usa but beta are famous for trials bikes and produced the ARK which uses a liquid cooled horizontal minarelli engine and looks quite unique, pretty rare wee bike.

Also have bought a 94 Suzuki AE50 "Hyper" in great condition but engine is stuck from sitting so needs freed up. Pics to follow as not collected it yet.
