Hey drawkward - Glad you are ok. Looking forward to seeing what this crash inspires you to do to the scoot. Ok i'm off to put all the bolts back in my CV case.

Thanks guys. Welding is an option, I suppose. I'd rather just get a new motor to work on though. Like I said, I already ordered the case half, so I'm going to at least try it and see how it goes. I'm sure if it's too off, I would notice... right?

That sucks man. Sand on corners is the worst. Glad you weren't hurt worse. Hope you get your scoot back up to speed soon.

Are you going to go with a the stock or close to stock style crank? I ordered new bearings for the stock crank. Planned on using the stock one, depending on the condition of it when I finally get it apart. The crank has about 11,000 km on it.The last thing I need to purchase is the case splitter. I want to see if I can just buy something similar that will work at HF. You guys know of anything? That sucks man. Sand on corners is the worst. Glad you weren't hurt worse. Hope you get your scoot back up to speed soon. Yes it is the worst. After our big snow storm sand is still all over the place. Thanks, I'm glad it went the way it did. The goal is not just up to speed, but faster Nice Oh yeah . It actually ripped up an old scar that I got while dirtbiking in the mountains last year that I didn't have a chance to clean out very well. It tore out some of the dirt that was embedded in my skin. Down near my elbow. Hard to see, but it's there. Gross, but cool.

Some people use steering wheel pullers as case splitters. Might need to make your own hardware to make it work just right, not sure.

I just bit the bullet and bought the only used 1PE40QMB motor I could find. I plan on trying to salvage mine so I might not return the case half. I was reading on case splitting and people were talking about how you can't just buy one half of a case, because they are matched and what not. Just like you were saying, Reg. Got me nervous, not to mention how much just repairing that one side will cost, and that's doing it myself. So I'm waiting on the used motor, new grips, and new mirrors. The motor I have coming has a 10" wheel on it I'm assuming my 12" wheel won't fit. I have Threebond, bearings, and a case-half coming too. I'll most likely return the case-half, and keep the threebond and bearings. I don't have much time to get anything done until next week. I'll start tearing down the motor and plastics to get everything ready to get back on the road. Thanks for the info on the steering wheel puller, Brent. I'll pick one up today along with some extra long bolts to fit my case. If nothing else, I can salvage my used crank and bearings, and have tons of extras.

People usually don't try to save their CS bearings. They are very difficult to remove w/o damaging them.

Some 10" wheeled scoots are short case and some are long case. If it's got the big fat tires like Eton Beamers and Yamaha Zumas it's a long case and your 12s will probably work.

People usually don't try to save their CS bearings. They are very difficult to remove w/o damaging them. Well that's alright. They aren't too expensive so no problem. I can see how it could get damaged easily. Some 10" wheeled scoots are short case and some are long case. If it's got the big fat tires like Eton Beamers and Yamaha Zumas it's a long case and your 12s will probably work. It's got big fat tires. I was thinking it might work because the tires were so big. I looked it up and that motor should have 120/90/10s. Those won't fit on a short case. I tried.
