You could buy rings and piston but you could also put it togather with the fresh 50mm top end and ride as is. Riding is better than not lol. Then save 25 bucks and buy a piston kit for the 52mm Cylinder

have considered Buying 52mm rings but I am shut down on the buying I rings ink my best option is to work the ports a bit of the 50mm and run it. They are literally half the size of to 52mm. I guess my compression tester is not working correctly. With every configuration I tried, no head gasket I got 90psi Kicking it over. Without cc'ing the head I won't know if the rings are shot or my ratio is just off. But what is weird is even with the 52mm cylinder and 50mm squish head still shows 90psi. I did measure cylinder lengths and the 52mm is 1mm taller. So it is likely I will just clean up the 50mm and run it. I am losing roughly 7cc's using the 50mm cylinder I feel like all this trouble building a big engne is kind of waisted not using full potential. But I guess an 85cc is better than a 70cc

I fired it up today with the 52cc cylinder. I dont have a rear wheel for it yet. I bought a wheel to fit it a month ago but the post office has misplaced it. I think I am getting closer to getting it Anyway, I ran engine without filter in garage. There is so much fuel spray coming out of the carb its nuts. I have to figure what I'm gonna go for a air filter...probably a hose and mount filter elsewhere. It is very tight with the polini intake and 24mm flat slide. It revs to 7500 with the flick of the throttle. Hopefully it will under load...

Just remembered I have a reed spacer I might have to take off for clearance

Since you have a lot of fuel spray if you mess with the reed spacer take another look at your reeds to be sure there's no sealing issue.

What is considered sealing good? If you put your mouth on the intake and suck in they snap shut and you can barely slowly suck air from the crank case. The reed petals didn't fit the cage so I had to cut them. I made sure they cover the holes of the cage. There is a tiny amount of space where the petal isn't totally flat on cage. Could be the pipe/port combo or the big flat slide carb? It seems to rev quick on the stand. May need a velocity stack.I have never watched a carb on a scooter that close. It doesn't do it off of idle as it is sucking it all in

I've never sucked on the intake. I just hold the reeds up and make sure I can't see light coming through. Sometimes you can just flip the reeds over.

I had some time to put in some work today. I used a huge old drill press that is actually a drill mounted to a stand, thing is from the 50s I beleive. Very heavy duty. I started removing material with a dremmel and didn't like the results so then sharpened a chisel. I finished up with 180 grit from the dollar store. All the sand was falling off the paper! Anyway here are my results for my 52mm head. I didn't cc the head as I think the comp ratio is really low. The head will definatly perform better I think?

I had to make a washer to keep the plug from going all the way into the head so I could work the area closest to the plug.

Hopefully knocking that lump out will be beneficial. I don't really understand the original design.

Got a wheel on the 90!!! I had to grind some of the inside of the hub off of the inside of the wheel it wouldn't go on far enough to get the axle nut on all the way. Now its on! What a relief. I ordered a fatter back tire I was hoping it would be here before the weekend, didn't happen. Just put an old tire on ot for now to get it rolling so I can tune and ride it. I hope makes more power than my 70, sure was a LOT of work

Glad you got it on the ground, ready to roll. Hope it'll do enough to make you happy with it. If not, there are probably some tweaks here or there that will get you where you need to be. A 90cc with a pipe should be able to outdo a sport 70cc.
