Since I've been doing my engine swap I've been ordering parts from GY6 Store, they have some of the best prices I've found and they have free shipping. They sent me a clutch tool instead of a flywheel puller and when I called they said they'd send me one out with a return label for the other part. Well they sent it with my stator but there wasn't a return label in the box. An hour later Jay the president of the company called me and told me not to worry about returning it and I could keep it. I told him I didn't have a use for it and I'll be seeing him in April at the Spring Nationals and I'll bring it with me. I'll be ordering more from them and hope you guys check them out too.

Only problem I have with them is...they don't tell you what the shipping cost is..so ya won't know until you give credit info and commit to pay..or give paypal info and click commit to pay. So you may get a $3.00 tiny item with $7.99 shipping..you have no way of knowing. Maybe they can fix that..cause I hate paying twice the price for shipping as I do for one little cheap part...

I never had that problem, what was on the statement is what I've gotten charged.

GY6store business practices
I placed an order on November 20 GY6 STORE / BEST DEAL MOTORSPORTS Invoice Date: 11/20/2017 22:05:58
Qty Description Price Each Total 1 TRANSMISSION COVER WITH BEARINGS AND SEAL INSTALLED FOR 50cc QMB $24.99 $24.99 1 OIL SEAL 16.8 X 30.2 X 6 FOR QMB139 50cc SCOOTER MOTOR $4.99 $4.99
They shipped the following (150cc case not a 50cc case), and did not ship the seal.
TRANSMISSION COVER WITH BEARINGS AND SEAL INSTALLED FOR 150cc Price: $29.99 Availability: In-Stock # Available: 7
When I received the incorrect part, I called, told them it was the wrong part, and was informed they did not even carry the part I had ordered, and asked me to return the incorrect part at my cost, and that was it. I called back within a few minutes for a return shipping label, and they asked me to ship at my expense, to be reimbursed along with a total refund, as they did not have the seal in stock.
I returned the part 11/23, expecting a refund within a week or two....
Foolish me ****************************** I sent this EMAIL December 9, about 2 weeks after returning their part:
Hello I sent this to your 'contact us' link on your web site a few days ago: I have yet to receive refund for order 3307: TRANSMISSION COVER WITH BEARINGS AND SEAL INSTALLED FOR 50cc QMB $24.99 Item #TRANSMISSION COVER 50cc QMB139 OIL SEAL 16.8 X 30.2 X 6 FOR QMB139 50cc SCOOTER MOTOR $4.99 Item #OIL SEAL 16.8 X 30.2 X 6 TOTAL: $29.98 No refund yet for additional $7.60 return shipping cost. Tracking #: 950551mumble7332204424 return package delivered November 30, 2017 at 10:44 am Delivered, PO Box SHELBY, NC 28151 And, you are still listing the cover I ordered which you state was never available. Quantity 2 in stock. I expect a full refund including shipping. $29.98 + $7.60 Total refund due: $37.58 Thank you tom *********************************************************** I sent this email December 14 after had received Paypal notice refund of $29.xx 12/12:
Hello Thanks for refunding the original purchase, but. I expect payment for shipping the part back to your store. It is not my fault that you list items you do not stock, and then substitute another item. If your site were corrected, and your 'picker' paid attention, then there would have been no transaction at all. You did not have the seal, and did not have the gear case. In stock: ZERO, so no bill, no refund, no shipping, etc. Please credit my Paypal account for $7.60, exactly what I paid to return the case. If you want to see the receipt, I can scan it. Thank you tom
Again, no contact at all, no phone, no email, nothing.... ************************************************************* I sent this email December 25:
Merry Christmas to you. When would it be convenient to send me the refund for shipping your parts back? I returned your erroneously sent part in November, and asked for $7.60, which I paid for your mistake, to be refunded. It is only fair that I be reimbursed for returning parts you shipped in error. Do I have to do something else? What do you need? Why not just cut a check and send it to me? I got nothing for my time and trouble, and the trip to the post office. Do you have any intention of at least paying me the postage? tom ***************************************************************************
And still, NOTHING from them by 1/4/2018. No email, no phone, no note at their site(??). Absolutely nothing.
So I called. Was told they had been and were busy and a check would be cut, and they hung up on me after asking me to "get off their phone number"?????
Is this how they do business all the time?
tom

I haven’t worked with this company before, but I know that a lot of these shops are basically two dudes in a garage and not to expect a lot of the same levels of service that you’d get from a big garage. Sometimes when they can’t process a refund it’s because they don’t know how to work the computer or do the accounting a refund requires, esp if you are asking for a shipping reimbursement which isn’t that “ordinary”. That’s not a charge they had that they can simply reverse. I’d give them time on that. Or I’d say fuck it and ask for a credit, which would be easier to process. Or id give up and chalk it up to wisdom learned. I wouldn’t lose sleep over $10 or whatever. I spill more than that on a Friday night 😁
What is “in stock” is what their supplier has or what they had last time they went through the site. I always call because a lot of time shops will have stuff they they say they are out of and vice versa.
Over the years I found that I only shop at a few sites constantly, and all these specialize in gy6 stuff:
Engines and electrical: drowsports Engine stuff: Martin mopeds has stuff a lot of others are sold out of, like bushings. That’s my “ace in the pocket” All the little bits and pieces: the Ruck shop Cool neat stuff: mnnthbx (man in the box)
Others are for special parts: Ruck house, composimo, steady garage.
You can call any of these garages and talk about scooters all day and they’ll do their best to help you out.
I don’t do eBay or anything like that.
If you pay for stuff, do it through PayPal since you can get PayPal to get you the money back. Have them send you a PayPal invoice so you still got the PayPal protection. Then if they good up, have PayPal work it out. If it don’t work out, zoink, they just pull the money from the shops account and pay you.

Ok. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. But if you insist, just forget what I said and take what tom said.

I've bought things from them quite a few times on eBay and so far so good. I don't have any plans of using their website though, because of multiple complaints that I've read over the years. I figure at least I have some extra protection with eBay.

Update. Got an email 1/4 indicating a check would be issued 1/15/2018. Almost 2 months after the original order I finally get some response.
They still indicate the transmission cover I ordered is in stock, the current on-hand quantity being 3.
The store rep I talked to indicated they were a million dollar company, and were busy. Someone must not know the difference between the 150cc and the 50cc-style covers, and put the wrong one back into the 50cc bin to keep the others company. That will lead to someone down the road ordering and getting the wrong part all over again. I tried telling them, but they did not want to hear about it, and just hung up the phone. I may order again, but if they send the wrong product, I'll just inform my payment source to deny payment, that they sent the wrong parts, and won't authorize return. They may pay attention to that. tom

The 1/4 email from MARVIN PHILLIPS (gy6store@aol.com) stated:
We will cut checks and send out on 1-15/2018
Well, it is 1/26/2018, and no check.
Figures. Rude on the phone, no time for customers who have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. No time to listen when told their inventory is incorrect. No time to respond (It has been since NOVEMBER) except after posting here.
They are not the low cost supplier, but try to remember Ben Franklin's quote:
"The bitterness of poor quality(service) remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."
They will find, over time, "It costs 7X more to obtain a new customer than to keep an existing one."
And finally, "Of those who complain, 50-70% WILL do business again if the complaint is resolved. 95% WILL returnb if resolved quickly. Average customer with a complaint tells 9 to 10 people, 13% tell more than 20 people."
Translated for the slow to understand: Fix the problem fast, resolve fairly, and people forgive. Mess it up and treat your customer poorly, and they'll tell a LOT of people, who will tell more. You lose.
I had no problem fronting the return postage, nor really taking the time to go to the post office. BUT. When I am treated poorly(hung up on), ignored(no response for over a month) and LIED TO(no check on 1/15), I have had it. I will tell everyone I know who may be interested that GY6STORE is not a good place to do business with. Their 'Million Dollar Company' can go bust just like Studebaker. Okay, Blockbuster for those who never heard of Studebaker. Maybe Circuit City or Radio Shack or Gander Mountain, and on the skids, Toys-R-US. Bigger than GY6STORE, to be sure, and headed just the same for cobweb city. One might say that liars and cheats get the treatment they deserve, but sometime that doesn't happen right away. Maybe Scrappydog scooters is moving to North Carolina? tom

Maybe just chalk it up to a learning experience, tell everyone and don’t buy anything from them and call it a day. You mighta have been had, but no sense making yourself crazy over it. Just say f$&k ‘Em and move on.

I am posting this to emphasize that they are willing to just step on people who are nice. I do not claim any special accord, just tried to be a nice guy and return their stuff they sent in error. It took almost a month for a refund, and I never god any response to my emails except below, and nothing since. I have sent emails and used their 'contact' form on the site with no response. I suggest if you want to try their store, be careful to use a credit card, and NEVER pay for a return using your own money. Their attitude is, politely, BLEEP YOU. If you use PAYPAL ordering from them, be aware the refund process is done to PAYPALs satisfaction, not yours.
Just be aware if you do decide their products are too enticing. If you get the wrong thing, or even don't get the complete order, their process is so lackadaisical you may get nothing useful.
The whole message string below sent to Marvin Philips, a GY6STORE person, on 8/29/2018. They are jerks. Do not purchase from GY6STORE.COM. They charge the account for everything, do a partial shipment, delay in refunding, and refuse to pay return postage for parts shipped in error. They are rude on the phone, and hang up on you.
Supposedly a 'Million Dollar Business', but soon to be selling pencils at intersections or squeegeeing windshields for spare change if they cannot correct their policies.
I dealt honestly, notified them of their error, even told them their in-stock position must be incorrect, that they still listed the part for delivery, and bupkis. Nothing but "the check will be in the mail" or no response at all. I have heard nothing since the email quoted below. NADA.
They suck.
Do NOT deal with GY6STORE. They steal, they are cheats, they are rude, they do not know what they sell, do not have stock of what they advertise, and they lie. I will let you know how I really feel in a future post.
tom ****************** The whole megilla if you want to read how they prevaricate or ignore customers*********** Mr Marvin
This is quite an indicator of your company policy.
I ordered a side case for a 139QB along with a seal.
You shipped a side case for a 150cc machine.
I informed your sales people. They indicated to return it, and I would be reimbursed for the postage. They also said they had a note on their desk that the seal was not in stock, and to process a refund for that.
So far, I got NOTHING.
I returned your part, which they said "We don't even carry that." Your online inventory indicated 3 in stock, which increased when I returned the 150cc case. I tried to tell them of the inventory error. They hung up on me saying 'Get off my phone'.
THanks for nothing. I want the check you promised back in January.
$7.60 would be fine, but you have wasted a lot of my time because your personnel and store have inventory errors.
I did more than I was obligated to do by shipping the part back on my dime.
You did nothing, but make empty promises.
Do you honor your customers or treat them poorly all the time?
I will note the lack of response if you ignore like all the others, and post this whole thing on 49ccscoot.com board. They will understand how you treat your customers, and respond accordingly. Treat your customers poorly, take their money, and then make promises that are not fulfilled. Good job, way to increase your customer base. not.
I wait with bated breath.
tom
