I got a new pipe on today. A leo Vince ZX hand made and I am not happy. it is like i lost some power. and this is over the stock matrix pipe. was my stock pipe that good? the pipe does not feel like it hits like my wifes Endy pipe does. this sucks. maybe it is not getting to a high enuff rpm. maybe that is what is happening. befor the noticable shift the rpm do rise faster.
Im at a lose.

Check the pipe for restrictions.

You'll have to tune your CVT system with a minimum of lighter rollers(4.5G),maybe some carb tuning too as a pipe changes EVERYTHING!Once its tuned,it'll make you smile ;D

Ok I checked the pipe and it has no restrictor in it. I did have 4.75gr rollers in it. It was making a pulsating vibration that starts slow and would get faster. So I tried my stock 5.5th rollers and now it is slightly worse. I did notice the the exhaust port is half closed. D shaped. Would this be fight against the pipe from scavenging. The pipe came with 4.3gr rollers. Maybe I'm not hitting the rpms I should. I know the rpms go up when I go down hill and I still don't feel a rush of power.I'm also running a red 2000rpm torque spring and red clutch springs. Help

I'd try 4g rollers and if you are comfortable with it, port match the cylinder to the header. Of course you would need to remove the cylinder to do that. Gases flow both ways. Flowing out of the cylinder to the pipe the port is simply restrictive from size. Flowing back in, it's restricted size wise and it's hitting a wall causing turbulence that you don't want.

Well if I'm taking the cylinder off I'm just going to put a 70cc kit on it.
I rode it to work tonight. It needs the lighter rollers in it I think. I do weigh a lot. So any power I do gain is not going to have that much effect. I just want to cruise at 40mph.

It does look good next to that fat tire. You might notice the 70cc install how-to in the tech section is done on a scoot just like yours. I'm about 300lbs and I could do 48MPH on it with a stock pipe, stock airbox with the snorkel removed, and a rejet. It would have done more on a longer stretch I think. If you go with a BBK and the pipe, you'd probably be really pleased. 40MPH cruising is possible with just the pipe once the carb and trans are tuned, but a good BBK helps us big guys more.

The restricter on mine was set in like a funnel so was easy to mis. Make sure you don't have one inside a bit. Sure sounds like what mine was doing.
With that pipe and my conservative 70 kit it is hard to keep the scoot down to 40. Yesterday i checked myself passing cars on one of the main 4 lane roads in town. Running 47 in front of god and everybody (as my mom used to say).
I'm on 4.5Gs and a 1500 spring.

It's not there. Unless it's further in the pipe past the first bend. I really think I'm not light enuf on my rollers. Also can I run with out the silencer. It is so quiet. Lol

It wouldn't be past the bend. Some of these pipes use the silencer as part of the stinger length, so performance may suffer if it's modified or when the packing wears out and it gets louder. Mine's not that quiet. It's not really loud, but loud enough. My MRP is really loud and that's actually no fun. Always worrying about cops and such.

My Leo is quiet down low, but it gets pretty loud in the upper RPMs. I don't like to full throttle it on the stand because I feel like I'm being obnoxiously loud.
I heard there is a perforated cone along the inside of the rear expansion chamber cone. Some say it helps your lower RPMs, but to me it just seems like a reversal on what the expansion chamber is intended to do. I'll be getting mine removed soon enough. I think that might make it a bit louder as well.
It will also be quieter the richer you are, I believe.
Does anyone else have indents for where the center stand would hit the pipe? Do you think it would be worth it in gains to pop them out?

Mine has three dents in it. I was told that they was for tuning the pipe from factory. The two on the bottom are no where close to the center stand.
I'm thinking that D shaped port is really hurting me. I tried 5.5gr and 4.3gr rollers and it's the best with 4.75gr rollers. The bad thing is it's slower top end then the stock pipe. It just feels like it's holding back once I get to 30mph.
I love the look of the pipe but I think I'm putting the stock pipe back on until I get the BBK.
Also I did retune the carb with jets and fine tuned it by adjusting the needle.
Thanks for the help guys.
