We'll slowly progressing on the build, I was fishing around inside the exhaust and felt something a little strange about 2 inches down, so hack/slash and look at this! I don't know what the dude was smoking when he assembled this but it's crap. As you can see the was a serious restriction inside the header pipe, used for locating it before welding the elbow onto the chamber neck.. Poop on them! However it's all good now, I also hacked off the mount since it was NO WHERE even close to mounting at the back, I'll post another pic when I am back at work tomorrow .

Okie dokie! Well I went into work super early this morning (Sunday..YAWN) and got some wiring sorted on the scoot, I have a new dash to wire in and it's the details part that take the longest. The dash i am using is a KOSO RX2N replica or SS812. It has all the functions we could need for this build as well as looking completely cool! Large tacho is what I wanted as reading numbers on a digital tach isn't my favourite pass time when trying to see what is going on. It has a few cool functions also, Max RPM recall, Max Speed, Acceleration times to 40mph, fuel gauge, MAX rpm warning light (set at 10,000rpm) changeable colour back lights etc etc. I still need to wire in the indicator switch block and hard wire the headlights to turn on when the scooter starts. Still it's coming along well. Here are a few pics from today. The Dash is just sitting there, I'll make some brackets up this week to hold it all in place. I also have a few quick vids of the dash start-up and one of the scoot running. It's rather crispy for being stone cold and a nice big 24mm Carb THINGS TO BUILD THIS WEEK:Dash mounts, 4 LTR Airbox (Larger if i can fit it) Finish wiring Fit LED headlights

Can you share some info on the forks and brake set up? I've been looking at options for my Vento Triton clone and so far it's pretty limited here.

Can you share some info on the forks and brake set up? I've been looking at options for my Vento Triton clone and so far it's pretty limited here. Sure thing, Forks are a FASTACE entry level version. The forks I am using are the same overall length as the Triton but are 30mm (31mm on the triton i think) so I had to shim them, the only downside is the axle is moved slightly higher up the leg but wasn't really an issue. I can alway machine some extenders if needed. The brakes are a 4piston Radial mount Adelin. 220mm Floating disc. It's quite brutal when the lever is tugged but the feel is so even and smooth! They came from Taiwan and my supplier sourced them but it's easy to get them now. If you like I can put you in touch with the man i use The cost was a little expensive (280USD) but that was for the Forks,Disc,Caliper and Mount. It also comes with a new axle and spacers.

Yes, please. That's not bad compared to some of the stuff I've been looking at.

So if the axle is moved up it then it dropped the front? I assume it's a 12mm axle? I've seen some that use 10mm and the legs have to be drilled to 12mm and a longer axle used.

It has 12mm axle holes already in there, it also comes with inserts for a 10mm if you wish. Yes the ride height is effectively lower by 20mm but it's not big deal for this build, each bike will be different though depending on body work clearances front wheel guards etc.

Another slow week on the build and time is fast running out! I have to have it completed by wednesday next week so I can start running it in and working any bugs out.... Any way here are a few pics of the air box in progress. it's around 4.1Ltrs before I install the filter so pretty close to what I wanted! Why such a large box and not a pod filter? Large air boxes help with low end pressure in carbs, 2 stroke engines really benefit from large volumes but it's usually uneconomical and impractical to fit them into scoots. This will help with pressure fluctuations and help jetting over a larger weather range than a pod, plus the upside of keeping that induction roar under control! the body work is due back from the painters on Monday so i'm looking forward to getting it all done, I also have a 24mm Keihin PE round slide to try out as well to see how it performs vs the PWK.

Very nice. I like seeing air boxes on 2Ts and that is excellent work. Really fits well.

Thanks guys, I think when I'm done with this build I will mould the box in either plastic or fibreglass with all the fittings. Let me know if anyone is interested

Hey Scoobnz, Do the break levers have a break light switch?

Yes they do, they have the standard 2 pin fitment found on most scoots
