Currently running without the boot but I guess I should figure out something to keep it in place.
Tomorrow im gonna buy a new sparkplug cap and change out the needle.
It feels a bit sluggish and lazy on 1/2 throttle. I think its a little lean there. It might also be the powerband of the pipe since the sluggishness disappears when going above a certain rpm.
From idle to 1/8 is perfect and everything beyond 3/4 throttle is also perfect. In between there i still have some work te do.

Put about 200kms on the engine last week. Thing runs strong, no problems and no more big changes are needed from here. This sunday me and some friends have a trip the the MX track planned. The Dutch MX GP 50cc and Vintage MX GP race aar held that day. So it's gonna be nothing but two strokes and blue fumes Remember, these are 50cc's!

Filmed the route from my home in Eindhoven to my parents' house where my workshed and tools are. It's a 25km (15,5mi) trip. It goes from the City of Eindhoven through a few small towns and villages and through the Dutch countryside. Now you guys can have a view on the Dutch scenery. Nothing really happens but if your bored and have a spare 30 minutes you can watch this. Unfortunatly it didn't record any sound...after i got home i noticed the mic cable was sliced in half because it got stuck between something That afternoon there was a big accident on the route i normally take. I came across this cop (20:45) who told me the road was blocked and i needed to take another road. He didn't even pay attention to my scoot Anyway, have fun watching

Been riding a lot lately and the thing runs strong. Tuning isn't bad (quite good) and im quite happy with it. But now tuning is good I start to discover the limits of the CVT. After about 20mns of riding when the engine is fully warmed up the CVT starts to shift real slow. When going WOT it takes a lot of time to get to its tuned rpm. It should be instantly. So im thinking of another variator. I really like the Polini Speedcontrol (which i have) but it seems to struggle on a setup like mine. I also really really like the looks of the Polini Hi-Speed Evo variator which tsimi has and has done a nice write up about. Im also thinking the contra spring in the rear pulley might be softening up under stress and heat. Maybe a slider or bearing underneat might work? Anyone tried one of these? Malossi torsion controller Naraku ball bearing Super small Betella bearing set

I had the same issues with my cvt getting hot and so I tried the Malossi torsion control. It didn't really make that much of a difference. Not in the Nevada summer heat, which can be brutally hot. A vented cvt cover helped me more than anything.

Taking the torque driver completely apart and clean/lube the slots and pins with high temp grease helps a lot of times...

Opening up the case cover did a lot for cooling on my scoot. I would say your td spring is getting hot and mushy. Good info from the guys above, before I spent any $ chop up a spare cvt cover. With all those scoot guys over there someone should have some tips!

You may be able to use BBs under a spring if you wanna try a moving base. Some of the aftermarket stuff doesn't seal very well and spews grease. I never noticed any major changes with BBs or the torsion control. They aren't bad things to have, but I wouldn't expect them to solve your problem. As others said, try venting the cover and cleaning/greasing the TD. Try a different brand of spring if all else fails.

Taking the torque driver completely apart and clean/lube the slots and pins with high temp grease helps a lot of times... I did, put new bearings in (ball bearing and roller bearing) with special MALOSSI MRG torquedriver grease for some extra HP! I also vented the cvt cover...maybe it needs some more. I currently have the malossi yellow spring. I bet the red spring solves this problem. I have one laying around, I might try it.

I have a tube of MRG grease collecting dust. For me, it didn't hold up as well as Mobil 1 synthetic grease. I had brown crud dried up in spots on my TD from the MRG grease.

That red mobil 1 grease you use isn't available over here I found out. I have a cardrdge with black Mos2+ moly grease which I used one time before in a TD but that stuff gets liquid and seeps onto the clutch. Can't seen to figure out what kinda grease that Mobile 1 stuff is and which alternatives there are so I ended up buying MRG grease.

The Mobil 1 stuff I'm using is just a synthetic wheel bearing/general purpose grease. I'd think about any auto parts store should carry something similar. I used to use non-synthetic too, but a tub of grease lasts so long that there's not a whole lot of price difference in the long run to go with synthetic.

I no longer use it with the tall springs because I found it would not allow full travel of the rear pulley sometimes.

SO im getting a bit annoyed by that laggy CVT and I think it's heat thats causing the biggest problems. I could just place a red contra spring but I feel thats not the way to go so a CVT cooling system needs to be fabricated.
I bought a K type thermocouple which im gonna place in the cvt cover to measure current CVT temps. Previously I routed some rubber tubing from the fan shroud into the CVT cover. But I ditched it fairly quickly after I got the idea it wasn't really needed and it might compromise cooling.
But now after a few 100km's I really got used to the engine and feeling for it's characteristics I think I need to hook up that cvt cooling again.
Im really curious what my mod does to CVT temps and engine characteristic.
