Okay my roadtrip review. Our idea was to do a 1000km/625mls roundtrip through Germany, Luxembourg and the Belgian Ardennes in 6 days.
We started off on sunday at around 10 o'clock to drive just across the German border to a camping in Simmerath. About a 140km/85mls trip.
Everything went well, we had nice weather and we arrived at the camping at around 6 o'clock.
After we set up the tent we went to go eat at some overly typical German place with EVERYTHING made out of this yellow wood. We had a good meal but weren't allowed to drink beer because we where on our bikes. It took us kinda by surprise but after all we agreed that it was a good ethical rule not to feed bikers more that one beer.
The next day we set off to our most eastern point, a real nice camping in Brodenbach, just below Koblenz. Again a 85mls trip.
We tried not to use a GPS nav and go solely on a handwritten roadbook. But sometimes it was off so i needed to check my nav system.
Here you can see how I packed the axis
My buddy's puch maxi. His moped has some nice engine mods done to it and it was way quicker uphill than my scooter. Eventhough he only has 1 gear. From a standstill i was quicker though.
We crossed the Nurgburgring! The part of the Nordschleife in the photo is just behind the F1 track. You can see the F1's circuit grandstand in the back.
Again a great day with nice weather and great scenery (lots of curvy mountain roads and steep hills).
We arrived at the camping at around 5 o'clock or so.
There was an old (14th century) medievil castle on a mountain top about 1 mile from the camping.

It was a real old castle but it wasn't furnished or anything. Later that day we wanted to visit another castle, but this time a way nicer one. Burg Eltz! A real fairytail castle and completely furnished and still in it's original shape! I have no pictures but this is Burg Eltz.
One of the most beautiful buildings i've ever seen. Completely hidden away in a valley surrouned by forests and mountains.
Well anyway..This day was kinda a resting day, we only planned some siteseeing and lots of beer drinking. You're in Germany for a reason right?
Me looking at my phone to decide which way to go.
That evening we went for a short ride to make some cool drive by and onboard video's on some of the curvy mountain roads nearby. Thats where I fried my engine
The next day we looked for a bike shop which could help us order a new cylinder kit. We found one luckily only about 3 miles from the camping. We had to wait on day for the cylinder to come in since it was a motorcycle shop and the shopkeeper didn't had any moped parts in stock. It was a very cool and helpful guy and he did a great job trying to get us the part as quickly as possible!
We lost one day with this debacle and we decided to take a shortcut home, skipping luxembourg and Belgium. We drove back via another route and stopped randomly at a camping just before the Dutch border. Man...that camping was something you Americans probably know very good. It was just a plain ol trailer park with people i can only describe as simple minded hillbillies haha!
My buddy and me we where like...Where the F*ck did we just end up? Anyway...we set up our tent, then we ordered some beers, and some more and later shots of jagermeister. After all we had lots of fun with the residents and the camping owners even bought us drinks. You shouldnt judge people on first sight, you might be surprised how they are when you get to know them a little better.
We have 70gb of video material we have to sort out and make a compilation video out of... so it will take a while to have a nice video up and running. But i'll post it here when it's finished.
