"What did you do on your scooter today"
Well, i thought about her. it? her? really? Nah it's difficult for me to genderize and henceforth put a name on my wheels, just feels weird. And at the same time I keep vehicles running for decades because I can't depart with them. Thankfully there haven't been that many. There was a quick spark of realization on a post I made the other day, my Ruckus is a 2009. Well holy friggin crap. Both my truck and S are 2005's. Pretty sure the scoot's part of the family now. It's that new corner rocket that's getting all the attention these days, hazing time.

Wait until your daughter names her vehicle the same as a close personal friend then comes home and tells you that 'name' is dead....
Instant heart attack.

Yesterday I replaced the disc on the S50. my housemate ran the pads down to bare metal and did all sorts of damage to the old one. It was a pretty east job, pull the wheel, caliper and hub. Remove the old and put it back together about a 30 minute job. I put new Malossi pads in to replace the generic ones I did a few weeks past. Here is the old disk versus new: Then I pulled the exhaust off the Velo to see if it was restricted. Another easy job. No restriction in the pipe but the exhaust port is tiny. I could barely get a finger in. I then pulled the CVT cover to see what's going on there. I know I was in there when I first got it but couldn't remember pulling any washers out. Besides being very clean it was obvious that I'm not getting full belt travel. It also has a tiny variator. Also the belt sits down in the clutch a bit. I think this will be the place to start looking for more speed. Here is a picture of a clean CVT: I then took it for a ride. It is a great little scooter, it's light and handles well. The brakes are okay, just need to plan ahead. I took it out today and it seem to get a little more speed, I keep forgetting even though its 23 years old it only has 138km and not really broken in. I'll keep riding it and do some CVT tuning. By the way I think that's the original belt, it looks fine. For a counter point I took the SR50 out and it is really pulling strong. I'm just waiting for the 6.1 gram rollers to get in and tune some more. I think I'll start with 5.5 gram and raise the RPM's some to see what I get. I found somewhere that the Gianelli Reverse peaks out at 9000 rpm so I'll find out if that's true or if I can get a few more RPM's out of it. It's all a balancing act.

It was okay with the new pads but just okay. It should be back to good now. Just waiting for a starter motor and it should be back on the road.

So she only named the Django then milly I will have you know she has very discerning tastes. She did not like the Django so it had no name and my mum thought I was not quite right...Hang on I will rephrase that, my mum said her intuition did not think it was right for me and not many times she has said that to me and when I have ignored it she has been right.😝
