I took delivery today of this sweet C16 I havent bothered to assemble it properly, as its off to be chrome plated on friday. Im sure there must be some out there, but ive never seen a chrome plated C16 before... also ive decided to take a spare set of wheels from my stocks and paint them Lime green, what a game I had trying to get the tyre off. in the end i had to cut the tyre off with an angle grinder. It made a lot of smoke, and i was in a right dirty state afterwards... many hours of rubbing down and prep are ahead of me now before i can paint them... I hope its all worth it in the end

If you take the valve the out of the tyres. You can use the centre stand to push down and break the bead loose. Then the tyres come off easily.

no centre stand on my Runner unfortunately...
I think the issue was i bought the wheels years ago 2nd hand, and the tyres had gone rock hard, and the bead was literally welded to the rim.
cutting the tyre off with an angle grinder although a bit barbaric, did the trick, the tyres were scrap any way.
lets hope the new tyres go on easier, and more to the point without wrecking my freshly painted wheels.

Tidied up my Vespa ET4 50cc stuff over the garage to bring home to the shed going to turn one of the 4t engine's into a 70cc when I start getting a proper paycheck end of December now that we are allowed to commence cycle training back in the primary schools beginning of the month after nearly 2yrs of covid and scratching around for bits of work. Then cleared a corner of the workshop so my ducks are lined up in a row ready to work on after my son's bike. ☺️

My BIL has a professional tire machine. I have a Horrible Freight tire machine. We both have motorcycle and lawn tractor adapters. We both spent years busting tires in shops during high school. Tires are no problem. Ducks are a problem.

First time out in a while on the Vespa scooter. Bugger didn't want to start but some starting fluid cured that, off for coffee and a chia tea then taxed it, all legal now. Me thinks engine a bit low on compression but no problem with starting fluid and having 2 spare 50cc engine's. 😀

Short story - goofed around with red scoot - fun test drives - and now all seems good enough.
Long story - On the red scooter pictured above, I secured the airbox - it fell off on a test ride around the driveway. Hadn't been using it for months and not sure why it wasn't on properly. After that, it ran well but I was thinking it's a bit hot. Tried moving needle position upwards and moved from 100 to 105 just to richen it up but it ran boggy. I know - don't change two things at once. I changed jet back to 100 and it runs great but a bit hot still. Plug looks ok. Both of my scoots are now in about the same situation. Called ZumasR'Us for some help and Trish suggested to look for air leaks and I found one of the exhaust bolts that was loose. Tightened that up and wonder if there are still more air leaks around the intake for example - on both. I don't want to run them much over 315, maybe 325 max, since I did that fan mod on each. I'm afraid that might mask some other issues like running too lean or maybe it's hotter in other areas of the engine.
But bottom line is that they both run pretty well (max speed around 55mph) at decent temp (max about 325) so I'm declaring them to be pretty well set for now. They're both probably running better than any time I've had them.

What's chia tea? And also Newtown? Not very Welsh is it?I'm pretty sure house cats are involved in naming Welsh towns. From letting a gato walk on a keyboard a few seconds (Aberystwyth ,Tywyn), to out right naming things. Porthmadog? Why the negative implication towards dogs? And Fishguard? Who wants a guard for their fish ? That's right, cats. What? Yes I could use a nap axually......
