Last night and today's job. Old exhaust off, new shiny stainless steel put in place and check for fit. Damn it doesn't due to triangular bracket fowling oil filler neck. Could have cut that piece out but then weakens it. Pretty good quality too for £43. Old back on. Then carb as a hard start so first attempt with 24mm spare carb a failure. Back to basics with reading up on carbs. Put old 24mm and Upjet main from 104 to 108 left pilot at 32. Starts first push of the button. Left running for 10 mins and sorted idle as near as damn it. Will fine tune after road test in the week as we got rain and 70mph rain and wind here in sunny Wales today.

I just changed my main jet, at 300 miles, from 104 to 110 on a 150cc. Made a noticeable increase in power and increased top speed from 50 to 53. I believe these are set lean from the factory to meet EPA emission regs.

had a customer bring me a super beat up 50cc 4 stroke gy6 today, i had to upjet the idle and main and adjust the needle clip. They had a stock exhaust and no intake filter (i told them to get a filter ASAP or else the engine is gonna have problems) On the test ride, the customre got pulled over and given a ticket by police which was a bummer

That's cheap for a stainless exhaust milly It's blowing a gale with storm Isha outside now. We have never had so many storms! Certainly was windy our friends up the mountain have a weather station up their place and it recorded gusts of 108 mph. I might be able to get a partial refund on the exhaust and make a bracket for the exhaust awaiting to hear back. Scooter went fine no problems on needle and main jet just tickover and mixture to fine tune but to cold to be riding with just a body warmer and no jacket on to far today will do that when either I get the stainless on if they do a deal or with the old one. Best I carry on with the Honda Melody in the shed as luckily school cancelled this week and car needs a retest and mechanic is fitting it in when he can between other jobs.

Today heated the exhaust bent it so missed body. A little bit to low but no worries. Put on a bodged bracket till get around to make a new one. Need something around baffle whatever it's called as too noisy for me. Got my partial refund from eBay company so all in all I got a stainless steel exhaust system for £35.

Good job. You can stick a banana in there to cut down on the sound

Overcast but got up to 70F today so a ride on the 120cc happened. I really enjoy this scoot, max speed is currently about 58 mph and getting there is the fun part. The V8 pipe I am using is pretty quiet, I can barely hear it over the noise that comes through the carb! I think I am going to make up a real airbox of some type. An airbox may even help ease tuning this carb which still has a lean spot if you roll off of the throttle slow.

-Or you could get a new 'performance' carb that is set up for a pod type filter and concentrate on weatherproofing the intake filter and maybe add some sound absorbing material. I used that type of setup on my scoot

Miley, you can cut the end of the exhaust into pie cuts and fold it over to shrink the outlet of the pipe, done it to a few of those ebay exhaust, will quit it down and not really affect anything. Gives the pipe a really nice rounded look. Almost like a baseball bat look.

Those are electrical connectors and connections milly -scoots have them... You will also find them on cars, motorcycles, trucks, etc. They will look quite different on spacecraft, even alien ones though, because those pesky electrons tend to jump around in a vacuum.
