This evening I got my new second hand throttle cable fitted l used the good old tried and tested method of gaffer tape and using the old cable as a pull through didn't have to remove so much in the way of panels. All back together ready for a spin and the rain appeareth .

Well today went for a spin and then a coffee, didn't have to mend the scooter but poor Ellie in the coffee shop panicked as she snapped the key on the till and couldn't lock it. Looked in the scooter no tools but a piece of wire a screw driver and a chisel. Till mended and extra brownie points as they don't have to leave key in till as can take it out at night now lock mechanism repaired and put in properly. Don't think their chrome coffee doofer was meant to be used as a hammer though to wack chisel to loosen nut though.

Exemplary performance, well done. It proves old farts are worth their weight!
Some key cuts are more easily broken than others. I had years of training on key types and cuts when making copies of keys, some broken, at the drug store when I was young. When selecting locks etc I inspect the keys and avoid those cuts.
Will the brownie points translate into a free complimentary coffee sometimes?

On my way to work on Thursday. The bike decided to seize up in sympathy with T2. I don't know what caused it as it's been over 3,000 miles with the same tune. But when I undid the cylinder studs a couple were loose in the cases.

Getting a couple things done today: getting the travel kit dialed and installing a top-end You probably only need a few sizes of socket for most things on the scooter. But it's good to be prepared if you can carry it all. I've had a leatherman surf for over twenty years now. Great big of kit. π

That is what happens when a piece of a reed makes it's way through the engine. A good carbide burr on a Dremel tool will buff that right out.

I am shocked aeroxbud! Running a nasty 2 stroke, you now need to get a nice sedate 4 stroke engine installed and castaway that satanic 2 stroke. You may then be awarded a gold medal for helping save the environment. You know it makes sense. P.S. hopefully all easy to sort out.

You can see a mark but I can't feel anything on the cylinder.

I will check the reeds. π I was kidding but I suppose a piece of anything could do that, even a piece of gasket or sealer. I once saw an oil pump on a 5L Ford taken out by a piece of gasket sealer smaller than a grain of table salt. Stopped the pump and twisted off the hex shaft going down the highway at 55MPH.

It's done quite a few miles now, so made sense to check them while I had the engine out. They were fine. π
