Hey 2strokd.. Where did you learn about these scoots? I also have a red cobra(still trying to start it) also, On mine it says cobra racer at the snakes mouth on the side panel. I was always under the impression that the cobra CROSS was the yellow edition one.. The RACER had the hockey mask and red.... One guy even tried telling me that they came with 12" tires.. :stumped: (only seen 10's on them myself), that the 10" ones were more rare. :stumped: (that pretty much went in one ear, out the other there). Just curious, since i always thought mine was a racer too.. Especially since it has the stickers that say.. I even have the "knobby" 10" tires w/ hockey mask on mine...(dam things on my nerves lately also. :banghead: ) Imagine that tho, right?!

Nice scoot robert, my jonway is a 4t but it's a good little fast scoot. Had it for about a year now with little to no problems. look's like you racked up some miles on yours. I hope i get that many. Now it's funny that you said you needed a bit havey'r weights as my scoots tac is spot on and if i doin't back off the gas it will hit 10K but im a light guy.

Sounds like you could use some heavier weights also. Your reving right on past peak power if its reving to 10,000. Ide think over 7-8,000 is too much on a stock set-up IMO. Depends on the engine. Style and gear ratio, wheel size, etc.....
I ended up going from 6gram rollers to 7.5gram sliders. Mien hits about 7-7,500 from a stop if i go WOT. I drops to around 7,000 and holds that until it runs out of pulley, then wraps up to about 8,500 at around 50MPH. Thats about the best its gonna get with it the way it is. Everything powerband wise matches up to the books as far as peak HP revolutions per minute. I feel more torque than anything in the low end off idle and lower midrange with the LeoSP3. Im real happy with it. Quiet, light and does the job!

Ive put more miles on the Cobra the past week than i dunno what? Only the second time i remember filling it up twice in the same day was Sat. Erica and i have logged most of those miles together. Its does very well with the both of us on it. We are small enough to fit comfortably on it for good rides :riding: . No complaints to Kymco on this puppy! None at all!!

Now with the bad... We were riding yesterday in around 100degree heat. The Cobra felt like it didnt like the heat at all. Slower to rev, shifts were slow and sloppy up and down. I thought it was just the heat but decided to have a look at the CVT anyway as i started feeling what i thought was clutch slip after some miles. It might have been slipping some but the real problem is my belt. Things got too hot in there and started tearing at the inside of my belt to the point that belt shavings and dust got into the vari and hindered performance there. The vari was so hot i couldnt hold it and that was 10-15minutes after i pulled the CVT cover and let it sit. No extra belts around here for this thing.... Im sure the belt was slipping too. Its a brand i havent seen. Made in France. It only is worn on the vari drive side. That makes me think i had some slippage there? Short of new belt im not sure what to do? Maybe vent the cover more? These covers are vented pretty well from the factory. Better than any ive seen. Hhmmm, i dunno?

Yes it does but i havet tested anything yet. When i put it on yesterday it was raining and my arm was throbbing so i just went up and down the street to make sure it worked right.
I will do some test runs and report. Its still set-up just like it was on Skeedr, with 1/8th mile and 0-30MPH tests ready to try. I dont think it will be very impressive tho lol.
