BTW I'll be parting out that Vento Zip R3i Turbocam after I'm done with it. I plan to give 49ccscoot.com members first dibs as I'll put the stuff in the for sale section here before resorting to Craigslist and Ebay. So if you're reading this post and you see something you want off it- call it. You have first-first dibs I'm not sure the guages are any better than what i have but not broken lense lol. That looked like it had a rear facing intake? if so i would be interested in the engine mount hanger rocker assembly whatever it's realy called Do you mean the "H" shaped piece that mounts the motor to the frame? Hard to see in the pic- you're using your phone too right? Black tube steel "H" piece that kinda goes around the intake?

I printed out my own 49ccscoot degree wheel and glued it to a CD. Now to figure out how to use it!

I did the same and used the thread in the tech section for help. I found it easier for me to use Robert's method for the math. Either will work and it's laid all out for you. Enjoy!

I got er figured out. Roberts method was easier and I used Bren't method to double check my math. Both cam out the same so I guess I did it right. Here's what I got: Exhaust Duration: 174. Transfer Duration: 111. I have no idea what it means yet. lol. It seems like my exhaust port doesn't open all the way while at BDC...

Did I miss something a while back? is it some cult classic type rule that you work on engines barefoot? I thought that was just a Aussie thing?

Yessir Clank! I only wear pants on special occasions and flip flops to weddings. Motor building= barefoot! It's a Florida thing.

I filed the top of the piston a bit- Exhaust duration is closer to 180 now.

Is the piston crown level with the floor of the exhaust port at BDC now? If not, before you file the crown anymore, try adding an extra base gasket or using a spacer there. Raising the cylinder will increase both exhaust and transfer duration. See where it puts you when you get the piston to clear the port.

Raising the cylinder will increase both exhaust and transfer duration. See where it puts you when you get the piston to clear the port. Ok that's what's I was thinking is another base gasket, I'm kinda practicing on this piston as it's damaged from a seize from something metal.. I ordered a new 50mm piston and rings and base gaskets from PartsforScooters. The cylinder seems ok, but I can feel (barely) the vertical scratches from whatever happened.. I have been eyeing this pipe HERE. I like the price and the description seems spot-on with what I want... It seems like my setup probably won't be super high-revving. Another option I was considering is modifying the Stage6 Pro pipe I am building to work with the 90- but that project is moving very slowly..

Brent tested a few pipes in his Project 90 build. The YMS V8 is affordable and had some good results. I think Autotech355 on eBay has them.

Not sure how the Silent Pro works. Doesn't look like much taper to the header. I'm thinking they're more like a free-flowing, but still quiet, pipe without a lot of characteristics of a tuned pipe. John would know the details, but I think basically adding volume could help the design you're using work with a 90cc. Basically my 100cc ZX just has a larger headpipe than the 50-70cc version and even though the 50-70cc version works on the 90, the 100cc version works better.
