Brent did you ever do any tuning or farther testing with the Hoca 54 8 port and 45 mm crank? Different pipes, case work?

180 Ex and 126 Transfer would be a nice torque build..Those "half wave" muffler-pipes are beyond me,,Brent liked the YMS so I'd have to say if Brent gave it a thumbs up,its Good!Best I recall it needed some surgery to fit right though..A 'real' expansion chamber for that RPM will be long and hard to muffle with the space we have..If noise isnt an issue a 'full' chamber would make more power at the expense of a long smooth power band..Kinda a tough choice huh??

I think a full pipe like a ZX ,etc with a proper tail pipe/muffler core diameter would do very well..

I stuck the Phongeer on there and called it a daily rider with a 45mm crank and mild trenching. Not fast compared to your stuff, but it hauled me to the beach cruising 55MPH or better for 70 miles or more each way and held up to abuse for half a day straight so I can't complain for something that looks and sounds stock. It probably wasn't pushing much over 9,000RPM with my setup. I like that kind of build. May not be the fastest thing around, but lots of power across a wide range and nobody pays much attention to it. The Hoca has an advantage over the stock port layout for that kind of stuff from what I've seen, but it's a lot easier to port a single exhaust port to me. I think I had a case crack and didn't get to keep it together long. Not sure if it was that one or not now, but it's somewhere in the T2 thread.
The YMS I wasn't crazy about. Seemed like it was strong down low, but didn't wanna do a lot past 8000 or so. The Phongeer is really nice, just you can't get them or at least it's not easy. There's more in them with tuned pipes. Johns Peace pipe smokes everything else I have, I just can't sit beside cops with it and not be nervous.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide on a stroker build. I guess the C16 would give the Hoca a little more. Or maybe a C20. It won't have to do 70+ but I'd like it to do 65 and pull the wheel on a retro.

This "Leader" carb seems to be an exact clone of my old Mikuni that I liked so much. Has an adjustable needle which my current stocker does not. Plus, I have plenty of jets for this carb. Parts bike bonus!

My first scoot engine extraction woohoo. Went fairly smoothly... Of course, next time I will have to support the scoot a little better lol.

Proof positive that piston wrist pin size isn't always relative to Lg/Sm spline size: Vento Zip shortcase with Adly 90 large spline variator fixed face... ...And it has the smaller 10mm wrist pin... Did you catch the damage to that Zip piston?? LMAO!

So the Vento has a 10 mm wrist pin? That's weird, mine was 12.

AFAIK 2004 and up are 12mm and 2003 and below are 10mm.

Is the piston crown level with the floor of the exhaust port at BDC now? If not, before you file the crown anymore, try adding an extra base gasket or using a spacer there. Raising the cylinder will increase both exhaust and transfer duration. See where it puts you when you get the piston to clear the port. Ok that's what's I was thinking is another base gasket, I'm kinda practicing on this piston as it's damaged from a seize from something metal.. I ordered a new 50mm piston and rings and base gaskets from PartsforScooters. The cylinder seems ok, but I can feel (barely) the vertical scratches from whatever happened.. I have been eyeing this pipe HERE. I like the price and the description seems spot-on with what I want... It seems like my setup probably won't be super high-revving. Another option I was considering is modifying the Stage6 Pro pipe I am building to work with the 90- but that project is moving very slowly.. I've got the numbers for a TG next r 100cc pipe also if you want them Sent from my SPH-L720 using proboards
