Nice. It's good you have that parts scoot. I've flipped a couple and buying parts cuts into the profit quick. I've been lucky with having the stuff I've needed or finding it here or on another forum. Good luck with it! It's a great way to fund the addiction. Lol Yessir! I think I found a loophole where I can keep playing scoot mechanic and also keep the wife happy; PROFIT! The other choice for a flip was a '02 Zuma that been crashed with front end damage for $200. The lady sent me pics since there were none in her CL ad. I chose this Zip as I have these parts and believe I can have a quick turnaround. The Zuma probably has more profit potential but a tad out of my Chinese scoot comfort zone ATM.

I just got two scoots today for $50. They're both 4t though. One has had some work done to it. I'm not sure if I want to part them out or try and merge them. The dude said one of them runs fine, it's just been a while. They need lots of TLC and someone who knows 4t's well I'm sure. I'll make a post tomorrow maybe with pictures. But good luck on the Flip Niz! I wish we lived closer so we can do some of these together. That would be cool to work with other knowledgable scoot enthusiasts! 4T is a world I haven't ventured into...yet. It seems inevitable as the 2T's get more and more scarce..

It's been awhile since I've posted anything new on the Air50. I drive it back and forth to work everyday and wherever else I need to go. She's running great! I cut some cooling vents in the CVT cover and found that the Air50 clutch bell is slightly taller than the 90cc Adly one and also the Vento Zip one preventing me from using it without some grinding on the inside of the CVT cover. I did take a pic of the three clutch bells sitting side by side showing the oddball Air50 being a little taller... nothing really that exciting though haha. I got these Dr. pully sliders that I'm going to try out. I've never used sliders before. They're 5 grams. I'm currently running a mix of 5 and 6g rollers for 5.5g...

So far with the Hoca or stock variator if I use a certain weight of rollers I like the same weight in sliders.

I'm assuming one can mix the sliders together like we do with the rollers? And thinking about it now; with the extra torque now at 90cc I might actually like the 6g.

Last Friday I had my kick start lever strip out on me stranding me at a gas station a few blocks from my house. I tightened it up real good with the help of some vise grips and it's been fine for a few days now, but I decided to check it out tonight. Here's what I found: Looks like it's chooched up pretty good and wouldn'tve been long before I was stranded again. Parts bike to the rescue again! I'm going to try using this Vento kick start lever as I like the looks of it, but I'm not sure how well I'll like the smaller kick area as I have my kick starter mounted in the 1 o'clock position and usually reach back and kick start it while sitting on the scoot.

Be careful of kicking into and beyond the stop in the cover. It's a good way to snap the cover where the shaft goes through. The stock Vento levers work fine. I've got a shaft if you need one Niz.

Thanks Dave- I used the shaft and lever from the Vento. What a PITA that spring was! Of course there's Brent's video where he makes it look eazy peazy lol. I damn near lost a chunk of meat from my finger tip!

Yeah he just walks it around and in doesn't he. I nearly threw a clutch though the wife's windshield trying to change clutch springs the first time after watching that video. Lol. Damn Brent making it look easy.

Got her all back together and all works good. CVT cover and kickstart are just begging for a paint job.

Don't feel bad, I hated kick starts for a very long time. Once I got the hang of it I can't say I enjoy them, but it's not terrible. Be careful putting the lever really high. I did that for a while, but it encourages hitting the stop harder than you should.
EDIT : Yes, you can mix sliders just like rollers. Some mix rollers and sliders, but I haven't tried that one yet.

I've gotten into the habit of starting of my scoot while sitting on it so I think the backwards angled kick makes it hard for me to go all the way to the stop. I went for a test ride with the sliders. Didn't really notice much of a difference in takeoff or top end. Slightly higher RPMs i think, but the mid-range felt hollow when I gassed it. I'm sure it's probably due to the sliders being a little light. I'll grab a set of 6g to mix to make it a fair comparison. Happy to report the Vari mod still looks good after a couple hundred miles.

Ah yes that's the ticket! 6 gram roller weights seem to be just what the Dr. ordered. Great acceleration- nearly wheelies, and mid range power is back again without it just feeling like it's revving but not moving like the 5g weights. I'm thinking of ordering a set of 7g sliders to go with my 5g set so I have better range to try...

On my old setup with a S6 variator it liked sliders a gram heavier than rollers and it wore them fast. I think I have 3 or 4 sets.
