On my old setup with a S6 variator it liked sliders a gram heavier than rollers and it wore them fast. I think I have 3 or 4 sets. I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I ordered the 5g sliders as I have heard the 1g heavier deal... I'll get a set of 7's so I'll have me bases covered since I'm liking the 6g rollers now...

Not everyone has had that result but that's how it was for me. You can tell when they're wearing when you have white chalk inside the cover, with Dr.Pulley sliders.

With all the China Case thread breaking going on lately, I figured I'd join in on the fun. woohoo. I've been fiddling with my gearbox lately- changing the driveshaft to use a different tire, swapping gears to achieve different ratio's etc. The other day I noticed the slightest drool of gear oil from behind my clutch and went in with a ratchet to torque the gear cover bolts down. While tightening the rear-most bolt I heard the dreaded "crack" of breaking threads. Four letter words ensued and I left the bolt just as it was as I was late for an appt. and needed to drive the scoot. She did fine with only one stop to top off the gear oil in an hours ride, but two days and lots of slung oil later it's time to make the repair. I was planning on putting the tap & die set I got to good use as I haven't even opened the plastic on it yet. After checking things out I realized I really don't have an appropriate bigger metric screw to use for the repair on hand and the hardware stores are long closed. I guess I got a bit lucky by stripping the rear most thread as the hole goes all the way through the case. I drilled the remaining threads out and squeezed a longer bolt through so that it protruded from the other side of the case and I put a nut with loctite on it for the time being. The more I think about tapping the hole and doing the thread repair the more I think I may just leave it as-is and call it done. I mean, this nut is far stronger than tapping the aluminum will be. ATM I am calling this repair done. If it gives me any troubles (I don't think it will) I will revisit repair options, but as much as I wanted to try out my new tool, I think I'd be doing more harm than good...

It's a good repair. Really more of an upgrade. I broke one in the front what a pain.

Gear case repair is holding up well. When I re-assembled my gearbox and torqued all the bolts down there was too much friction- just didn't spin freely. When I took a little pressure off the bolts all is good and after close inspection of everything I came to the conclusion that I needed to double up on the gasket. I used the Moto1 Ultra Grey with 2 gearbox gaskets and now everything is super smooth! The rear tire and clutch bell spin with no interference whatsoever and absolutely no slop. This is probably the smoothest I've ever had any scoot gear box and no leaks after 2 days now...

Or just remove a shim or two if they are still in there? Good save either way

How is wint dr.pully sliders? Grts. The 5 gram were too light for my taste, and I haven't been using them, but Dr. Pulley is top notch...

I've got some 5,6 and 7 that my S6 vari didn't like and won't fit my Malossi OR.

I've got some 5,6 and 7 that my S6 vari didn't like and won't fit my Malossi OR. What size are they? I'm looking to buy some sliders for the Hoca, which needs 16x13.

Hmm. And they're sliders? This size fits the HOCA and should fit my M1 too. Couldn't hurt to have em to play with. Let me know what you'd want for them? I still need to order heavier rollers to test the VX50 and new pipe with I think, but once I'm close to dialed in I'd like to move to sliders.
