You may have to tune to sliders. My scoot liked a 1 gram difference from rollers to sliders. Can't remember wich way. Brent found his liked the same weight. $12.00 a set.

Yeah, I've heard they can react differently. I'm trying to avoid paying $20 a set. Hmm. if you don't get rid of them anytime soon, let me know?

Sliders are supposed to give a larger range of motion due to their shape so it's supposed to be a nice upgrade from rollers but I have my vari heavily modified and it's already pushing the belt to the very edge so I won't notice much difference... should be helpful on a stck Hoca vari!

I almost hate to mess with my scoot as it's still running great but I finally got a TTO CHT! Yay! Can't wait to start tuning using this! I'd like to see the difference in temps from this modded 49cc head I'm using vs. the 70cc head I got from Corrosion. I also want to see temp changes with a few different pipes, tunes etc. Finally peace of mind!

CHT is a handy tool, keeps the Oh Crap! and WTF! sayings to a minimum when tuning..

Got the TTO CHT display mounted. Haven't installed the sensor under the plug yet- domestic duties are calling. Gotta do a brake job on the van before the Lions game!

I see you got the spark plug one. I'll have to get two sensors since my scoots have different sized plugs. But I'm seriously thinking that will be gotten soon with all I hear about temps and tuning and such.

I've been playing with my CHT but it's cold here in FLA now and I don't really have any winter clothes. My last ride cost me $20 in hat and gloves at 7-11 because I couldn't take it anymore! I took some pics of the things I've been doing to tune but it's too cold right now to spend much time in the garage posting pics! While using the modified 49cc cylinder head (with two head gaskets) I got a max temp of 360 degrees. I took it off and put the 70cc head (it's huge! The 90cc shroud fits snugly around it and it is melting it a bit) on with no head gasket-no base gasket and removed the snorkel and got a max temp. of 318 degrees! There's a problem though- I was worried about this: Now that I'm using the larger cylinder head my compression is lower (haven't checked it yet) and I've lost a lot of "punch" down low. I'm remembering back to when I got this 90cc really ripping and I never did a compression check- it was late at night and I was just happy it ran so well. Now I wish I would've done a compression check somewhere in there for comparison. I've also noted that my "starts on first kick every time without fail" is gone now too Sometimes it takes 2-3 kicks with this 70cc head to start. It's about 50 degrees in FL right now... So my question is this: what's an acceptable max temp? I'd like to keep using this 70cc head for it's large surface area and cooling abilities but with no base gasket already I'm thinking my only option is to shave it down...

OMG dude I was worried about it being cold tonight but with my jeans and rashguard jacket on it feels amazing out. Perfect for a ride! Question. Why again did you go to the 72cc head on the AIR? I must have missed something. Don't discourage me, I still have 72cc kits to put on both scoots. Dammit if you were closer.

350 degrees is fine, over 400 is getting too hot..A manual choke is a good item to enrichen the mixture to get the temps back down..

I've been using a 49cc cylinder that I widened out because the 90cc head didn't provide enough compression. As 190Mech pointed out- the 49cc head may cause excessive heat due to it being so much smaller physically (less cooling surface area). I got a nice big squish style head from Corrosion and it lowered my temp by 40 degrees but due to it being more cc's I've lost some compression...

I upjetted a few weeks ago for "winter" but I think I'm running too rich. I'll wait for the weather to get back to normal here (70-80's) before taking too many drastic measures with the tune...

Ugh! The dreaded broken CVT cover!! Damn!!! Luckily I have this extra Adly here, but I'm kinda bummed I need to steal the CVT cover- I wanted to keep it intact I've had some ideas in my head about my scoot lately and I'm going to making some big changes on it! The biggest changes will come after Christmas! For now I'm putting the modified 49cc head back on (with two head gaskets like before). I really liked the way it ran like this- lots of torque and always- I mean always- started on the first kick!

I decided to take a little break from the flip scoots and do a project I've been meaning to do on my scoot- clean up the cuts on my CVT cover! My CVT cover broke so I stole the one off an Adly motor I have and went to work on it... I cleaned up all the cuts and put it on my scoot for now, but I do plan to paint it blue!
