Double barrel this time! Lol I had my easy-to-reach beverage holder on my old scoot and loved it. However, it was so convenient that I could never decide if I wanted to use it to hold a cold drink to sip on at stoplights, or to use it to hold my cell phone and sunglasses.... Both please!

OK I'm trying not to get too excited since I don't have it in my hands yet- but look what I found! Struck up a deal for $80. It's a 2 hour drive.. I'm supposed to go pick it up tomorrow... fingers crossed this seller doesn't flake!

The atv motors are short cases but you can put it in a long case scoot. Just have to use low profile 12" tires or 10".

Well it's early AM and I'm ripping through this 90cc. I've been doing a little thinking of what "type" of build this is going to be.. A ground-up restore? An all out-race engine with BBK and all? In the end- being realistic for me- this is just going to be a down-and-dirty engine swap. As little $$ out of pocket as possible. I really didn't have this project planned. I've been checking Craigslist every day for my stolen scoot (yes, I haven't given up ) or any parts from it. When I came across this 90cc I knew I had to jump on it as I'm not sure I'd get the chance again to aquire one at such a good price. That being said, I didn't have this planned out. I don't even have a fresh set of rings for it... Should I just let it sit in the garage until I get some parts and goodies for it? HELL NO! I want to ride this baby! I put the pipe on and did a compression check. 60 psi waa waa waaaa.. When I pulled the cylinder off I found that someone has been in this top end. The cylinder head looks brand new. No carbon to be found. The piston, however, does not look brand new. It's been chooched up pretty good. Looks like there was something metal scraping around in there. Circlips and reeds are in place- not sure what caused the damage. I found the reason for such low compression; whatever was scraping around in there slid up the piston and jammed the rings in their races with the aluminum being folded over them "entombing" them. I will post pics of all this later, but for now I'm taking a break and wanted to get my thoughts in my "diary". I have cleared the ring races with a razor and the rings seem nearly new. With this being such a down and dirty build, I'm putting everything back together and if the compression is acceptable, that's how I'm running it... for now.

so is it the 50mm or the 52mm? If its a 50 bore, then its likely a 45mm stroke!

Congrats Niz! I'm going to Orlando today for a 50cc with back wheel and a 70cc cylinder. This one is out of a Triton and I'll be using it for a 90+ CC build. Just have to find a scooter for it.
