So the White thing has been visiting for the past few days, doing a carb tune and vario stuff... had a bad vibration, turns out the crank is bent on the vario side... so it's leaving again. Got the rad in and hung, have some ducting and things to weld to it still. Exhaust is actually on, took 2 10 degree pies and a few rotations and I don't think I changed the pipe length more than a few mm.. Its getting closer. Tomorrow is waterpump and coil mounting and tidying up the wiring harness.

Devcon is another great epoxy filler that can work in this application.. It is what I use. Probably get it at industrial supply stores.

And remember, you don't want it polished. Finish sand it with 80-120 grit sand paper in a random pattern. Leave it "rough"
Or if you have access to a media blaster a nice glass or sand blast is good too.. just wash it REALLY well and qtip out all the threaded holes and pipe clean oil passages. ( make sure to tape off the bearing areas, you dont want to do them)

Longer conrod has many benefits, The higher the rod/stroke ratio the less side load the small end bearing/piston has. Also if you look at it from a trigonometric view, the rod actually moves at less of an angle, which means less work for the bearing.
There is also the benefit of longer dwell at both TDC and BDC for compression and cylinder filling.
Going to a longer rod has very few drawbacks in my opinion other than cost and setup.
It does mean the port timings will be slightly skewed, but the same goes for changing the stroke.

Tape off the areas you dont want to grind... that way if the dremel skips you wont be super sad!

So the KTM 65 Rad core size measures 150mm x 108mm x 32.. I didn't get total end tank measurement for that one.. but just judging it should be about 7-8ish inches long with end tanks.
I also got some measurements for the KTM 50.
196x94x78 199x94x111 core size is 116x88x32 There are some tabs on the side of the rads that is why they measure wider than the core.

11.5 x 6 x 1 7/8 thick
You could trim the 6" down a bit by shaving some tabs.

I have one in the garage I can throw a tape on. CH250 rad, but should be the same.

Dang!I liked the custom bent one,,looked like many of the GP race bikes used that type... Haha, that rad was on a trials bike that ran away after a hillclimb and launched up a tree about 10 feet up and landed directly on a sawn off stump. On the side. On the rad. Its good for sizing tho and it has a neat rad cap I wanted to save.

I had a single YZ80 rad on the twins, no overheating. Problem is I am fussy, and if I am doing it once, I may as well do it to a degree where I won't have to worry about having to do it twice. The Malossi cup zips use a pretty hefty sized thin rad. So I shelled out 300 Schrute Bucks to get this. It is a 2014-Current GasGas TXT trials rad, dual pass.

Man, Rads suck. Everything always looks neat and clean till you throw rads in the mix. I refuse to just mount it to the front like 90% of the dio builds. I have currently a left and a right 1982-1985 YZ125 rad set, and a GasGas TXT trials rad. The trials rad is the winner currently, more tubes better cooling. I will be picking up a new one as this one is just a mock up one and the new ones are thinner and also dual pass. Option 1: Mount it down low on the front. I am worried about braking and scrubbing the front tire. Option 2: Side mount it. It's uglier, it requires more thoughtful ducting. Option 3: I think KTM 65 2010-2018 duals would work great.. but I can't find measurements of them anywhere... Bleh.

Have not had time to even touch it other than the carb. Have had family visiting. Today or tomorrow I will be back at it.

Was gonna buy a carb, only to probably replace it down the road.. then realized I am a machinist, so I bored out a 24mm to 28+mm (it's almost 29) I want to run a 32 at some point.
