hose normally goes into the airbox, most just turn it down and leave it by the rear brake arm

Need to get yourself a machinery Handbook and some thread wires and a 0-1 micrometer.
Looks good, next time test it before you take it off;).
OR this can be great practice to pickup the thread and cut it deeper!

Just cut the stinger short and get john to weld you and ship you a pelton cap to scab on yourself.
You got this.

Parallel to this, I have been working on the transmission. It uses a odd rear pulley setup and the clutch is up on the crank.. I want to make it run a normal front variator, so the rear needs a clutch. I machined out the rear housing to put a 6003 bearing, then after some trickery machined off the front half of a Piaggio input shaft and added it to the nubbing of the Hobbit. This let me put a Honda pulley setup on with a proper clutch. I could have use the Piaggio but it uses a 18mm belt thats hard to source in other sizes. I also deleted the pedal mode and plugged the hole in the shaft

The past 6 months of my life have been rough. I needed a cheap project to take my mind off life in general. Cue my $100 dollar hobbit. Its a 1979 PAII. It's really rusty... Someone has beaten the snogg out of it mechanically. It's perfect. I did a lot of research on mopeds and the Hobbit is probably far an wide the best option for nuts out modding.. there are lots of mods for MBK and others but the hobbit uses a simple scooter like variator and the engine is Honda and lots of stuff bolts up to the cases. Problem is though there is only one crank for it. And if you use this crank then you are stuck with the variator on the Hobbit. I am going to change all that. After a lot of measuring I found that a Piaggio crank is a really close fit to a PA50 crank. The width are 1.595 for the piaggio and 1.615 for the hobbit.. and the hobbit uses a .020 gasket in between the case halves. So I stuffed one in there, the Piaggio seal on the flywheel side fits in the middle bore after you cut it down.. it was meant to be. The other side I did use the 30x19x7 Piaggio seal, but a 27x19x7 seal would be better. Next up I used a Stage6 Speedfight modular race cylinder I had sitting in storage(they discontinued this kit!) I had to weld the shit out of the cases and will have to port like crazy. I got the MHR Team ignition to fit in the space

Yeah that test machine is more what im looking at... I need to make some sort of test bed to figure out the curves on some MVT CDI boxes so I can set them up properly
They won't even tell you what the base timing is so you can test and troubleshoot with a timing light....

That seems to be a programmable ignition. I want something that gives me a curve of an existing cdi... I am probably going to go full analog and make a motor that runs a crank stub with a flywheel on it.
But it would be sweet if I could get it into the digital world.

I want to make this for a few reasons. I was thinking of using an arduino to trigger the box and then map it out somehow...
but I am not sure. I would love to have it graphed out but that seems complex and i'm not a wizzard of programming.
Anyone ever seen anything like this in their travels?

CH250 motor is a decent swap into these... heavy though.

yeah if you get it warm and use a high nickel rod your good.
but brazing would be my go to for that repair.

Use the diamond burrs, less likely to chip the nikasil.
