Oh that? Easy bro..they blocked the crankcase vent so pressure would build up in your crankcase..that way they could be sure the excess pressure would blow the rings out..and also the pressure would allow piston blow by so that your spark plug can foul out faster...lol. However many times when I see where folks have plugged the valve cover vent tube..it is because the rings are already bad and they were having blow by..in which oil was coming out of that vent tube. So remove that plug..take it for a good ride and see if oil spews out of that hose. If that does happen..go back and kick their *ss and ask for some money back..Then petition the Court System to have all hand tools removed from their possession..and also make sure they are banned from purchasing anymore. That hose is supposed to reroute any unburned fuel back into the intake. But as I said..many plug it off when worn rings cause blow and oil spews from that hose.

No Sir..did NOT say that at all.. Just said whoever did that should not have. Most likely nothing wrong with your engine.. That is why I said....unplug the valve cover vent hose..go for a nice ride..1-2 miles even..and see if any oil spews from that vent hose. Some light smoke/vapor is fine and normal. Raw oil that spatters and leaves an oil trail is not. So go run it and see what ya get. Then either leave the valve cover tube unplugged..or reconnect it to the airbox as it was.. If it is only smoke/vapor that is..if it is raw oil then there may be a prob.. k?

I gave up. It started raining. It would get a steady idle tho. It was either too high and the tire was spinning or I would then the idle screw just a hair and it would die. There was no in between. I will fiddle around with it some more tomorrow. It seems to have great acceleration but its top speed is really slow. Any ideas are welcomed. I will update tomorrow if I find out the problem

Just make sure all those vacuum hoses don't have any cracks or tears. Check for blow by like doc said, then that valve cover hose should go to that other plugged tube. Pretty much connect your red circles together. Lol. But reading your post again it seems like you already know that. I'd check the intake manifold as well.

But check first to see how compression is..and/or if you have oil blow by out from that vent tube once you unplug the end of it..

I would definately unplug the tube coming out of the valve cover because it causes excess pressure to build up inside the engine. It was put there for a reason. Eventually it may cause damage to the engine.

I remember my daughter's first car, a 1989 Ford Probe. It was a high milage car. If you unplugged the crankcase ventilation hose, the engine would stall out.

That's what I think is happening. If I just put a bbk on it will it replace the rings?

Yes. The rings come with the kit. Do yourself a favor and watch the Youtube videos on the install.(2 or 3 times!!!)
