I have a tank Urban Sporty TK100-T. It is a 2005 with 22,042 miles on it. All stock except a replacement belt that broke. It has a 100c 1P47QMG engine. Same engine as the 150 with the same 57.8mm stroke..but it only has a 47mm bore as it came from the factory. It has not corroded or died in the 3 year mark.

Hey renegade281! To get back to your issue, I think you have all the info you need to form an opinion and make a decision as to what to do with your vent tube. Any other issues you need help with today?

Any other issues you need help with today? Basically what would be the best way to figure out if there is anything wrong with the engine? I don't care about re routing a hose and all that.. I can do that later. I just need to get it up and running stable so I can have a reliable set of wheels right now

There's no reason to be so negative. We can argue points without that, or we should be able to.
Back to rengade's scoot... You may or may not have a problem. The way the hoses have been dealt with may be an indicator of an issue. Maybe someone just did something weird. I assure you it wouldn't be the first time something strange was done to a scooter, probably seeming like a good idea at the time. If you really want to know what's up, a compression test is the way. For now it sounds like all you've done is started the scooter and played with the idle a little without anything awful happening. You don't want to leave the crankcase vent plugged. You can just reconnect it like a stock scoot, going from valve cover to airbox tube. I just used the filter on mine as an easy way to deal with the vent when switching to a pod filter.

Usually you just gotta adjust the valves and the carb mixture screw to make it run/idle right but sometimes you will get an old scooter that has been sitting a while and no matter how clean you make the carb it just won't run right and so you have to buy a new carb. Have you torn the carb apart and cleaned the jet(s)?
Does that carb you have there have a sealed mixture screw or is it open so you can play with it?
As previously mentioned, make sure any fuel and vacuum lines are not old, brittle and/or cracking. replace as necessary. Also, make sure that big rubber elbow the carb fits into isn't cracked. Remove the brass colored clamp and shine a flashlight at it and check it top to bottom.
Make sure the CVT is clean and all components are in good condition and the drive belt isn't cracked/dried out.
Make sure the tires have air in them and no leaks especially at the stems. I use soapy water in a container and a paint brush to apply it all over the tire and stem to check for leaks.
Change the oil and gear oil.
Point that vent hose somewhere other than into the carburetor
New spark plug NGK C7HSA, CR7HSA
Check the brake pads/shoes and replace as necessary and make sure the front brake fluid reservoir is filled to within 1/4 in. from the top.
If there is an exhaust leak at the cylinder head then get a new gasket and fix it cause that will burn the exhaust valve which will result in your getting stranded miles from home usually.

It's a brand new keihin carb. The pilot jet was alot bigger on the keihin than the stock jet so I put the stock jet from my old carb in it. It isn't clogged. Maybe I will try putting the other pilot jet back in. I have a compression meter so I will do that today too. Will post up results after work around 5pm. I know u guys have lives but I really need to get this thing running. I would even be willing to give u guys my number so we could text or even give a call to help me out a little. Any help is appreciated. And the knowledge yall have given me already means the world. Not very often u find ppl that just share info like this out of the kindness of their heart

here is a simple answer to your running by friday inquiry...
1. clean the carb very good, all the little passage ways, inside the jets, all that. (take it completely apart and hose it down with carb cleaner then assemble back correctly.)
2. with the vent hose, either connect it back to the intake with a hose long enough or.... just put a hose about 12" long with a small air filter on top and mount the filter higher than the valve cover.
3. for the terrible top speed i bet either (1) there is a small washer limiting the speed of the variator, which can be removed. or (2) the belt is already wasted to where its so narrow it cant achieve the original top speed.
With these three things i'd imagine you can get her running well enough for some play time until the next work session. if it wont idle without the wheel spinning, just set the idle low so it dosent burn out the clutch and just rev it up and down when you come to a stop to keep it on? Its not exactly proper but hey, if you wanna have her riding asap you might have to cut a couple corners for the mean time

also: a brand new carb is often the easiest solution, they cost as low as $ 25 on ebay. there is a shop locally here in Texas that has them for $ 40 right off the shelf. good luck!

There's a shop locally here like 2 miles from my house that has them for 35$ on the shelf. I had already planned on those 3 things... Plus I'm gonna adjust the valves and do a compression test too

OK so I just started it and it started right up first try. Off the bat it idled real high so I'm gonna try and tune it down and just leave it alone after that... I'm so confused lol

if your checking valves, compression, installing carbs and whatnot im sure youve got the skills to get this baby running tip top.

It's running fine once it gets going... But it still idle high. Like as soon as you start it up it wants to take off... But if I tune the screw down even a hair it wants to die. It's like there is no in between lol
