What cooling shroud are u talking about The black plastic thing around the head and cylinder. Looks exactly like this.. Brings the air from the fan up around the cylinder to cool it.

You don't have that cooling shroud, absolutely do not even run that engine..

Ohhhhh I did not know I needed that. Dude didn't have it when it got traded to me. I'm sure I'm gonna need a new set of rings. I have a cooling shroud from my other scooter

How do I know it's at TDC if the sprocket has holes all the way around it. The timing mark on the fan isn't always accurate right?

The cooling shroud that surrounds the cylinder and direct the cool air from the fan across the engine fins to keep the engine from overheating. It is very important and you should never run the engine without it.

There should be one bigger hole at the top center when at TDC and you should have 2 smaller holes that line up with the edge of the head. It really depends on if you have a stock cam or A9, A10, etc..

or can i use the one from my other scooter even tho this one has the BBK on it.. they are both 64mm valves

If its broken valve seals, you can just swap the head for the good one.

If you are speaking of the little viton o ring around the stem of the valve which stops oil from running down the guide when sitting just replace it.But a broken seal only smokes for a short time upon start up.Something smells like tuna here to me.

If the guy he got the scoot from was riding it with no oil and no heat shroud, I am afraid he has bigger problems than a valve guide.

tomorrow i will... i already put my tools up and closed up shop...
the guy who looked at it knew exactly how to take everything off and checked the rings.. he said the compression and oil rings are good... you can tell its a blown valve because there is dried up black shit all around the exhaust valve and the other valve is clean as a whistle... i called the guy i got it from and he said he didnt drive it much after he got the BBK on it because the tire blew so i dont think he did much damage to it... like i said i will post pics tomorrow
also i knoew why checking the rings i did not line them back up correctly because now i have no compression... could someone point me in the right direction of how the rings are supposed to be placed on the piston
