It turns over, so check for fuel, spark, and compression. Wouldn't be a bad idea to make sure the battery is charged up well, just in case that's a little slower than it would like to turn over. More details : www.49ccscoot.com/faq/wontstart.html

I'm just wondering if maybe that piston or crank is damaged. It seemed to me in the video that the starter's turnover sound was slow. It COULD be the battery, but it could also be a seizing piston. Considering it's a BBK and was driven without a cooling shroud and hasn't had a proper break in, engine damage would be the first thing on my mind.

I just has a bbk100cc kit installed a month ago. everything on engine is new. so piston isn't a problem. what elselse should I try.? But you not only ran it without the shrouds, you broke in the new piston and cylinder with no shrouds which means all of this happened under extreme heat. This is why he is asking about your piston, and other internal engine parts...it maybe/probably is not OK. It does not matter if the parts were new...running under extreme conditions can destroy ANY part no matter how new it might be.
Bill
PS You say in the title of this topic that it will not turn over but, your video clearly shows that it does. I don't get it???

You could try this,
Get it all put back together, take some pics. Put an ad on Craigslist and list all the go fast goodies and say it goes really fast(60+). Then say it doesn't currently run and probably needs the carb cleaned. Cut your losses. Then buy a new scooter(not from same place you had issues with)and leave it stock.

I don't get it you mess with motor and maybe screw it up and want to sue who? I think if you have the old parts put them on and try what else can you do. Maybe you get lucky or not.

Floyd, my best advice, is take it to a different mechanic. Tell them everything you told us, tell them what you have learned about the shroud and anything else you can think of. I'm almost certain without seeing it for myself, that you have engine damage from extreme heat and that's why it won't start and that is why it cranks over slow. The guy who did the BBK for you did not know what he was doing. It would be foolish to take something back to someone who screwed it up in the first place. Do like I said in a different post, get estimates from a different mechanic, take it to small claims court, ask for a judgement in the amount of what repairing it will cost. The more you keep trying to get the person who screwed it up to fix it, the bigger sucker you will make yourself out to be. Don't do that to yourself. Sure you could learn from most of us how to fix it yourself, but that is not the kind of justice you need. You need to have this whole incident made right, that goes far beyond what anybody here can do or advise you of. This site is really more for people who are enthusiasts with a basic understanding of engine dynamics. You my friend, need legal advice, not just technical advice. Nobody here can help you with that. I would suggest that you NOT try repairing anything yourself, get help locally. Not just to fix the scoot, but to recoup money that was swindled from you.
