Picked up some eBay side panels and some parts from tazland on hondaspree.net (chopchop123 on eBay, great source of spree parts). Got a ignition with keys and a seat lock with keys as well as a new throttle cable from him New seat cover

Had to clean out the carb and tank when I got it (of course) and replumb all the vacuum and fuel lines. The former owner had everything wrong- fuel line on vacuum port, oil line on bowl overflow, etc. Also had to torch the muffler to get it unclogged. Still needs some work but it's doing 30, which is pretty much stock speed. I may put a bbk on it but maybe not, it's just a spree so it won't go much more than 35 unless I motorswap it with something, and I won't do that cuz it runs fine so I may sell it. I still got a black one that needs plastics, I may put a shortcase 90cc motor on that one.

Oh here's the other one. It actually had the better motor, 130psi still. I swapped it into the red one, I'll put something cool on this one like a 90cc polaris or a piggy lc race motor.

Did a little clutch tuning, 90gtvert style haha. Saw one of his videos a while back about drilling holes in a clutch to increase take-off rpm. I drilled one small hole (3/16" or so) in each clutch shoe. Raises my take off rpm a little and made it a hair faster off the line. Top speed is unaffected and still the stock 30mph, but I didn't expect that to change. Imo the spree is a downtown scooter, a scooter for extreme urban commuting. The low top speed and it's (in)ability to ride long periods at cruising speeds make it difficult to ride in even a normal 35 mph setting. In a urban area like downtown Seattle its great cuz traffic aint really going too much faster than you, and your stopping every couple of blocks for traffic lights at least. For me to ride to the taco stand down the street from my house (in a suburb of Seattle), I feel like I need a 70cc motor capable of 45mph (quickly) just to feel safe.

The spree is extremely small tho, and very maneuverable at low speeds. Way more so than any of my other bikes Imo. It's size and weight makes it very easy to turn and balance, until you speed up. I've noticed the handling is not great above 15-20 or so. I think maybe it's the rake? Not sure, but it seems difficult to lean and steer, I have to make wide turns.
I like this thing, but it's kinda boring. I might pick up a bbk just cuz, if i don't sell I'm gonna need it to do 35 or so haha. And I'm not gonna upgear it, I don't wanna sacrifice my take off or spend a bunch of money on this one-speed motor. Just a bbk, and everything else stock so I can at least get going quick.

Yeahh, BBK it with that intake adapter you have and a nice Stage 6/Naraku, etc intake and reeds, forget the gears unless you are doing long distance straight traveling. I like my lower geared Spree more then the high geared one because of take off and acceleration at stop lights through town.

I had an adapter for a 2-bolt honda intake but its for my brothers '85 aero motor. I'm not changing anything but the bore on this one. No reason to Imo, it barely gets ridden. Carb works fine as it is, and she barely ever gets to top speed. It'll be fine with a bbk n upjet I'm sure.

I've been noticing this bike runs better cold... I'm guessing the pilot circuit is clogged. Ugh. Guess I gotta pull it apart n clean it again. The pilot jet circuit is angled so it's very hard to clean out w a piece of wire or jet drill. I may have to have it cleaned professionally. Or maybe just unplug the choke haha. Seems to run n idle fine with the choke on.

Sold this one today, then I hopped in the the truck and drive 185 miles to overses place to buy his spree-arelli. Still damn near complete, plus he threw in a jog motor and a bunch of stuff with it since he was cleaning out his garage and I drove so far. I'll have his old spree up and running soon, I'll post pics in a day or so.
