I will pull the carb apart and checked what size pilot jet I have.
The boiled down problem is the bike wont really rev past 4200 rpms. The bike is fully de-restricted.

Hmm. Here's a test. Take off variator and belt. Reinstall variator back plate without the plastic tabs on the crank, then the variator boss, then the face plate and bolt it up. This will engage the electric start without the variator or belt being in there.
After everything is hooked back up (and your belt cover is on), give your e-start a go. You should be able to rev the snot outta that motor now, getting it past 4.5k rpms. If so, then you have a transmission issue, if the rpms stay how they were, you have a motor issue.
Let me know.

Dexameth: I will try that out.
I tried to go wot down a slope today, neither the rpms nor the speed did increase. Some backfire on de-accerleratio.

Dexameth: I will try that out. I did it one day to test CDI "limit". Got my 52mm kit up to 10,800 rpms and let off the throttle, dropped to 9k then hammered back on it. I guess our stock replacement CDI's aren't rev-limited.

Okay, Mine is a little special...
You only have to type kymco super 8 4t cdi box to see how strange that "thing" is.
I have cut one of the purple wires per instruction, which supposedly moves the rev limit from 7500 rpm to 9000 rpm. But i'm getting nowhere near that..
It seems like it's still restricted, cause when I reach "top speed" I can feel a slight engine break action going on.
I have also tried to change the ignition coil with no luck.. I've also tried swapping the main jet out for a 118 with same results..
Do you think I should order a new cdi? That already comes with no restriction. Or is it just the carb?

Yeah maybe, I think will try a new cdi.

This is not my scooter but... here is a guy showing that there still is a rev restriction when the original cdi box pink wire is cut. He shows the difference here between "unrestricted" orginal cdi box and a racing cdi box. Original Cdi with the wire cut: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ev8ChCLy28Aftermarket cdi unrestricted: www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8HMz6dYAFY

I've just tried a 118 main jet with no difference, so I jumped down to 110 Mj which drives exactly the same as all the other jets.

Yes I did. Is anybody in here who has experience with a naraku 390.30 kymco super 8 unrestricted cdi ?

I tried really going wot down a hill just to make sure. The bike was warm. Only a slight increase in speed and rpm, but only just slight.. Then it started to hesitate and backfire, so it is definitely still restricted.
Dont you think?

Zero transmission restriction, let 'er rip and pay attention to the RPMs.
