Last spring I acquired an x-peed from my brother who couldn't use it anymore. It wasn't used much, tire valve stems were bad and I eventually got them replaced. It also had (has still, maybe) a small oil leak that drips slowly. After I started using it I noticed it would take longer to start the longer it sat unused.
So I made it my winter project here in Wisconsin.
I bought a cheap chinese carb for $20 and once i got it tuned the moped worked fine. I think the carb on put in has a 35 pilot and 75 main.(The original is a mikuni with a 22.5 and 70. I think the auto-enricher is broken?)
When my boss asked what I wanted for Christmas I said a 70cc kit for my moped. Lol. And he bought me one. It's a 12mm pin. Minarelli clone. 1pe40qmb I believe?
I followed the directions on this site to do the job. Upjetted to 85 I think.
It ran fine as long as the airbox was off. Thought maybe it needed more airflow, and followed the advice and added two of the 1" uni vents to my stock airbox. Then it tuned just fine.
I also put a derestricted CDI on it just because it was like, $10. Not sure if that did anything.
It was a good January day here, 40 degrees out, so I took it for a brief drive.
It still makes around 35mph but gets there much faster. The cheap inductive tachometer was around 9k rpm. It idles at 1200.
I'm not looking for a racer or anything but a couple more mph would be nice. The road I take to work is three lanes (plus bus lane) at 35mph and it would be nice to have some ability to not restrict traffic and to avoid disaster from bad drivers.
What would y'all suggest next?

I thought the United Motors scoots were all Morini engines, built on the same line as the Hyosung. Be careful when buying more for it until you check for sure. If it's the Hyosung Morini I believe the Variator nut is reverse thread so be careful there and check before throwing and impact on it. Have fun, they are great light scooters just not many go fast parts.

Up the revs to gain more speed. Thats done with a sports exhaust.

But because i was a dealer i got a few Sense scooters in for work and if i am not mistaken they are morini .... I would verify that be for i ordered anything

I think it depends on the year, but I'm not certain. If it looks just like a Triton, it should be a Minarelli clone. Then there are these...

Borrowed this picture from his other thread. It looks just like a Triton in the background. For what it is worth, I have even seen several Vento Tritons that were 4T.........

For what it is worth, I have even seen several Vento Tritons that were 4T......... Don't think they're 2004s though. I think the Li or whatever it was with the 4T started around 2008. They also switched at some point (maybe the same time?) being made by CPI to being made by Baotian.

Lol good find on the background pic. I'm out of town otherwise I would send some better pictures.
Also cleaned up the garage a bit after that one...
Yeah it's almost identical to the green one you posted. Different exhaust.

And I guess it has a remote start in it for whatever reason? But the original key and fob are long gone. That's what my brother told me.

I agree with ThomasTPFL in regards to trying a different exhaust. but it seems like at 9k rpm you should be going way faster than 35mph. is your CVT unrestricted?
When I read that you only were getting 35mph, it reminded me of my first big bore kit, and I was going to suggest you take the head off and measure the distance from the top of the bore to the top of the exhaust port. I bought my first bore kit from a local shop, installed it with a V8 pipe, it would zoom up to 35mph (as indicated on the speedometer) and just stay there. It just would never go past 35. long story short, the bore that I bought was like an "economy replacement 70cc", exhaust duration was low. I think it was basically a bigger bore to give you more torque but also meant for longevity/reliability. I didn't have a tachometer with that bore so I don't know what kind of RPMs I was getting. But, not many people would be willing to unclamp their head just to check because I didn't bother to measure after a tuner/mechanic suggested, I just ended up buying a mid-race kit. my big bore had a lot lower top speed than the stock 49cc bore, but it got to 35 significantly faster.
the fact that you are turning 9k rpm and only getting 35mph would suggest that it is not an issue of low exhaust duration, so that leads me to agree with ThomasTPFL on trying a different Pipe first.

you could always get a taller/ bigger tire would give you more mph. and would be cheaper than most of the other stuff already mentioned.. although you could check your belt to make sure its not worn too narrow replace if it is. and exhaust would be a close 3rd. all 3 would help mph. also might want to try your stock cdi. most of those "performance" cdi's ive got my hands on hinder performance, unless its a name brand like mallosi, Athena, naraku, ect. they actually test engines and create an ignition curve meant for your specific engine. as apposed to the generic boxes "one size fits all"

Does it have a restricted variator?
I’d also try the stock cdi again, just in case the cheap one has a bad curve.
