The cylinder can most probably be saved. Decarbon the cyl top. Duct tape the cyl walls and glass (or walnut shell) blast the ports to smooth them; I've heard that sand can embed and come loose at the worst time. Ball hone (Brush brand) the cyl in both directions with their lube, then wash thoroughly with soap, hot water rinse very well (the cylinder, yourself is optional) blow dry and 2 stroke oil asap. The ball hone will freshen the cyl and radius the port edges. New piston, rings, clips, bearing and pin, 2 stroke oil all contact surfaces. The following needs a lathe and a drill press. Opinions needed: (1) if the head can be lathed to give it a decent squish shape. (2) How to get it centered on the cyl is tedious but fairly easy. This will add 2 locating pins between head and cyl in the gasket surface Not in the steel liner. A lot of small details, ask if you want details.

I mean I'm planning on tearing this all apart come winter, so I only want to get so involved. I'm gonna see if Oldgeek has a kit or I'll just try the new head from 190Mech and roll with it.

Did you look at the TDC deck height between the piston and cyl during disassembly? At BDC did the piston dome come flush with the transfer port bottoms??

Sorry for the delay, work was a doozie today! I found the hoca kit. I purchased it a couple years ago from a member here but never used it. It is a 10mm pin but I purchased a 12mm pin hoca piston for it also. It is missing a 10mm circle clip and gaskets, but I will see what I can find around here to make it complete. PM me your address and I will get it in the mail tomorrow or sometime this weekend.

PM’ed you.
I also have some gaskets around that may work. They were just a generic set from PFS, but they were for a 50cc...

I put your package in at the post office today. I gave the cylinder a quick once over with the ball hone, so it will need to be cleaned before installing. I got it all boxed up and sealed then I thought about exhaust studs, so I poked a hole in the bottom of the box with a screwdriver and stuck a couple in. There are also bearings with the pistons so you should be covered.

Got everything and, oh man, you really hooked me up! Everything looks awesome! Thanks again!
I can use the new rings from the 12mm piston on the used 10mm piston, correct?

If the thickness is the same, yes. However the miles are so low on the 10mm piston and rings I would reuse them myself. Save the 12mm piston and rings for when you eventually upgrade the crank to 12mm.
