The edges of my stock airbox were warped badly too. I sealed it with rtv, then used short metal screw to "button" it up.

Got new main jets today and new airbox in good condition (even the rubber gasket is on edges). Jets are 87 and 89, idk which one to try first. Tomorrow in daylight i will try to tune

Good deal. I hope you have luck. As I said, I run an 85 main in a 14/16 mm mikuni card with the stock airbox, and a Polini sport 70. I was running an 80with no problems, went to 85 for an experiment, and once I adjusted the a/f mix and the idle I found the throttle to be slightly more responsive. Just keep us informed of your progress.

Ok, so basically i tried few options: first one was stock airbox without holes and 87 jet. It was sluggering and stuttering very much so that wasnt so good. Second option was stock airbox with holes in it and jet 89. Thats what i chose to be best for low rpms and for top end speed, got wide open throttle and little bit stuttering but other options i tried wasnt better. So stock airbox with holes, 87 jet, needle clip on throttle is on top of the grooves (needle down, clip top position), still bit stuttering and sputtering. Interesting is fact that when i put on the carb i suck the vacuum valve to fill up the carb so i dont have to kick it so much to start it, and when im taking off to test the ride, at the begginning its very good, very powerful and good takeoff but when i stop and turn around and try to take powerful takeoff then its not so good anymore, dont know if replacing roller weights to lighter, what would happen? Hope you have some options to me

I'd lower the clip to the middle grove. Remove the snorkel from the box and cover the holes to start. It's possible you could have a bad fuel petcock of fuel vent.

It kinda sounds like you may have a small air or vaccum leak. If you have a can of carb cleaner, start the bike, and spray the cleaner near & around the carb, and the intake & reed cage near the engine block. If the revs climb while spraying in a certain area u found a leak. Could be the vac. line to the petcock leaking just a little. Try that if u can, & get back to us.

As Dave said, putting the needle in a middle position is a good idea for a baseline. Also, changing the rollers IMO wouldnt fix your problem any more than just masking the symptoms. This souns more like a fuel delivery issue and not like a cvt issue.

Snorkel already removed. Trying needle in middle position tomorrow maybe. Hopefully it wont make things worse. Dont have any carb cleaner either. What else can try? WD-40 e.g?

Wd may work, got any starter fluid? I cant remember if wd40 wwould work, but I do know pb blaster WILLNOT as it is not flamable. I am not sure about liquid wrench. Raising the needle will richen the mix at speed, I believe over 1/4 throttle. It wont hurt anything. I wish ya luck.

I've heard that wd40 can be used to detect leaking on block. I'll try something flammable and not very greasy or oily. Definately try needle position

And how to check the vacuum valve on the gas tank? When i put the vacuum line on the valve and suck it there then gas comes from the other end with no problems, pretty easily

Well, does the vaccum line hold steady pressure, or does it slowly bleed off? It kinda sounds like fuel starvation to me. But check for leaks too as a leak from almost any gasket could cause a fuel issue.

You need to find out what the stock main jet was. like for my 50cc with 80cc bbk stock was like 82 and i had to go to 88 i think. And on my 150 stock was 112 and with aftermarket air filter i used 115. for you i would try to go on ebay and order like a set of jets like i did. order jets from 85-120 or like 90 95 100 105 110 115 try the 95 if it starts to get better try the 100 if it gets even better try the 110 if the 105 was better than the 110 then u no the 105 is the sweet spot. put your mixture screw 2 and a half turns out. My stock pilot was like 35 in my 50cc so stick with the stock pilot. The needle put in the middle or all the way at the top and work down. its a tedious job but once you get learn it its easier lol. pretty much try to figure out what the stock jet was and say it was 92 go up in 5 increments. But first of get a new spark plug fix that first off, gotta have good spark or you will never know the correct jet. Is that the stock jet the 92? and make sure the diaphragm is in decent shape with no holes that could cause stuttering if its messed up.
