Thanks!
We'll I've installed the BBK, NGK Iridium plug, the gates belt, 5g sliders, put a #90 jet in the carb, new oil, performance CDI, removed the pair system and I've completely redone my wiring harness and I think all the electrical gremlins are gone! I then fired her up. I have my valves set to .003 for both. I had to adjust my idle a bit.
It's raining outside so I've not had a chance to take it down the road, but I let it warm up, then blipped the throttle. It revved up then as it was going down, it died. Started it again. Checked everything, then blipped the throttle and it died again. I can bring the throttle up to about 4k or so and it seems to be fine, but if I give it more than that it falls on it's face. Gradual throttle seems okay up to a point around 4k or maybe a little bit more.
Do I need to go up a main jet? It seems to idle somewhat fine. Idle RPM's are not as steady as it was with the factory head and cylinder. I swapped out the performance CDI back with my original CDI and seems to do the same thing.
When I set TDC, I noticed that the 'T' mark was not exactly aligned with the casing bit. If you are looking at the the timing marks, the 'T' mark is slightly clockwise of the casing bit (point on the casing you line the 'T' mark to. I can get a pic tomorrow and post it, but I thought it was a bit strange. Am I off a tooth?

Some of these Chickety China scoot parts are so cheap it makes sense to just replace instead of pulling your hair out cleaning every tiny orifice perfectly in a gummed up carb... Glad u had a happy ending! Yes! Glad it worked! And I totally agree with niz.. That's why I was happy to find out the cheap scooter I bought had a GY6 engine. Everything is sooooo cheap!

If you want to try and rebuild that carb, you need a rebuild kit. comes with all the gaskets, o-rings, new float valve, jets, etc. You can get them every day on ebay for around $7-$12. Get a gallon can of berryman's carb cleaner and soak everything for a day or so (of course minus the gaskets, orings, and plastics. Or for around the same price of the rebuild kit and berrymans, buy a new carb.. Here's the one I bought.. Carb

Welcome to the forum! I'm not too old on here also!
I'm not the most expert person at working on these scooters, but if I were you, I'd just buy a new carb. You can get a really good carb on ebay for around $25 shipped to your door. That's what I did. I do have the original carb soaking in some berrymans to rebuild and make as a spare.
I would worry that your float valve is old and isn't sealing and is letting too much gas in which may in turn possibly wash the cylinders. Do you have your float set properly?

I'm going to go ahead and see if I can fix my old wiring harness. It's not in too bad of shape, and I figure that'll save me a few bucks...

Went to install the new wiring harness and whadyaknow.. It's not right. Talked to ScrappyDawg scooters and they are going to allow me to return it. Nice. I'm in the process of stripping down my existing wiring harness, and tracing every wire to find out the problem.
I did get my new main jets and polyurethane fuel lines. Got the lines installed. Those are so much nicer than the stock ones..
Time to see what I can do with the old wiring harness...

it is not the right harness, yours uses the harness with the 4 pin ignition switch. you can find them on ebay pretty cheap, just look for the 4 pin ignition. you can make that one work but be very careful about matching everything, you will have some extra wires. I've already sent a request to return it. After looking at it, there are male connectors where there should be female and female where there should be male, etc. I'd have to do a lot of cutting and soldering to make this thing even halfway right... Can you point me to one? seems like all I can find are 150cc versions. I've found one on another vendors site, but just realized it's out of stock.

I sent an email last night to their tech department and here's what I said...
I just ordered a GY6 50cc wiring harness, which looks great, but do you have a connector diagram? my wiring harness is shot, but some of the connectors on the new harness are not the same.
My rear lights and turn signals are not the same connectors, and the ignition, and possibly the controls. I don't mind putting the old connectors on the new harness, but want to make sure I match them up properly. There also seems to be a few other connectors I'm not sure what to do with that are on the front part of the new wiring harness. Most have just 1 wire.. brown, black, etc..
Thanks for the help!
I forgot to mention that my scooter is a Handsome Boy style scooter pretty much like the Jonway QT-21. It has the word 'Velocity' on each of the side panels of the scooter..
Thanks!
Here's the response I got....
"Sorry I do not have a diagram for you. This is a generic wiring harness that will fit, but you will have to sort out what you have. You could try some of the scooter forums"
Not as helpful as I would have expected based on what everyone on here is saying...
I did call them today and spoke to a guy that seemed to know his stuff and he said that I do have the right harness, and I will have to change some of the connectors, and make sure to match everything up right pretty much. I don't mind having to change some of the connectors, but looks like I'll be breaking out the 6 pin connector for the rear lights and turn signals and adding on connectors for the turn signals. I didn't want to hack this thing up if it was the wrong wiring harness, and it scares me a bit since some of these bikes have their lights AC powered and some DC powered.

No prob. Honestly I didn't know if this carb would be different than setting parallel since it had a slanted bowl lip. That slanted lip was messing with me!

I've already emailed their tech department. I checked the ignition switch connector on the new harness and it is a 6 pin connector, but has 5 wires in it. I think my old one is a 4 connector with 4 wires..
I ordered the 50cc model under the Handsome Boy section on their site, but I'm guessing they must have sent the wrong harness.

I just received my new wiring harness from Scrappy Dog. It looks really good. When I put it on my scooter, I noticed that there is some connectors that are not the same as my old wiring harness.
This question is probably going to be rhetorical, but do I need to take some of the connectors off the old harness and replace the new wiring harness connectors? Ignition keyswitch connector is different, as is the rear lighting connector. The new harness has one large female plug with multiple wires in it for the rear lighting, but my old one had a smaller 3 wire connector for the tail/brake lights, and barrel type connectors for the turn signals, so in other words, I would have to cut up the original harness to even make it work, or do they make an adapter connector for that one?

Got the new 100cc big bore kit installed. Also installed the A9 Cam, 5 gram sliders and Gates Powerlink belt. Still waiting on the new 1K Contra spring, new wiring harness, Performance CDI, etc...
The BBK came with a #90 main jet. I expected an 85, which I already have, but that was a nice surprise. I've got a complete kit up to #100 coming also.

Looks like I had an extra new fuel line laying around that fit perfect! Thanks!
Now all I have to do is wait for the polyurethane lines to come in!

I removed the emission stuff. It is a 139qmb. Is the valve cover vent to airbox also 3/16? Seems a little bigger. May just be that my wonderful Chinese hoses are just enlarged...
