Cant do much until I get the tire mounted. Ive tried 4 shops. No one in my town can mount this thing. Im not sure how to proceed. I dont want to throw money at this thing.

Looking closer, remind me to never bitch about measurments from memory. The rim is actually 8.5” but its exactly 8” from bead to bead. Just has a large protruding lip. Which is fine. Im at a stand still until I can get this tire mounted. No luck at two different shops mounting the 140/70/12 Avon. How the hell do you get this tire on. In the mean time.

Thank you for the clarification. I shall henceforth refer to all vehicles as scoots. Small scoots, big scoots, really big scoots. To avoid any confusion, of course.

Thats a cool truck! I gather lorry is not exclusive to what we call Semi-Trailers in the US. Can it be used for any large cargo vehicle?

I think so. Both douglass rims I bought are a bit off measurements. Probably a quality thing. Douglas isnt a top tier brand.

The rim I bought was sized incorrectly. I ordered a 3+5 and got a 4+4. Finally got the replacement today and took the rim and tire to a shop to mount it. We were unable to stretch the 130/70-12 onto the 12x8 rim. I'm sure its been done, but I don't have the skill or patience to do so. I ordered a Avon Viper Stryke 140/70-12 and we'll try this again. Additionally, it seems like my rim is not actually a 12x8, its closer to 9 1/2" width. Even bead to bead is 9" I'm not happy about that but at least this rim fits on the swing arm without rubbing.

Here's a link to the muffler and pipe from ebay. I will definitely take a look at that tire. Thank you.

1” holes punched to fit 1” tube. 2 brackets per side. Tabs to hold the swing arm bolt are next.

Thanks dotdash. Stripping down the bike to get ready for the 150 New headlight installed. Wiring will come later. I have almost everything I need to start working on the engine mount. In the meantime, Id like to grind off most tabs I wont be using. Stock gas tank and seat/bucket will not be going back on the bike. Handlebar stem adapter and 7/8 drag bars are in the mail.

No-one will ever notice that block off plate. What would have been easy is to cut an aluminum can (pop or beer), mount between that plate and the port. There isn't that much pressure so the aluminum will hold up. so i tried that, didnt work. When the can started tearing at the hole, sounded like i had a valve chatter. Finally blew through and just got noisy. I want to weld that lil hole shut myself too rather than have a big bolt rammed down the top of the outlet I'd recommend what I did. Very fast, very easy. And it looks like a store bought part when finished.

Welcome back to Michigan! What area do you live in? I live in the Thumb. Love the 12" stretch! Nice job. Nothing like riding something that says "Don't @@@@ with ME!" Thanks. I live in Flint. Born and raised. Charlotte was cool but I missed my hood rat friends. Everything I drive/ride looks mean. I don't do it on purpose. My creative flow just... flows angrily?
