hydrogen gas, easily produced, as safe as LP, no monopolized technology needed, no monopolized fuel source needed and burns clean without any complicated emissions equipment.

My truck has to park out in the driveway for this beast temporarily, a 4.7L twin turbo making 362HP and 406 pounds of torque, 0-60 in 6 flat with the caviat that it has to have 91 octane minimum or it starts cussing at you in german. By comparison, on 87 octane E10 my Sierra makes 300HP and 360 pounds of torque.

I doubt oil would do much to stop salt really, all it needs is the slightest chink in the armor, and it's typically applied as a brine any more, so get a nice fine salty mist everywhere, best defense other than a good under coating is routinely washing the under carriage well, all the automatic car washes around here have a spray bar for that purpose, supposedly contains salt neutralizers, but even if it did, the actual time you spend driving over the bar would barely wash dirt off.

Worst I ever had for rust was a 96 F150 Flareside, only thing that didn't rust on the body was the plastic flareside, and on the underside the oil pan, both leaf springs and the drivers side spring mount rusted out.

I plan on using a decent salt neutralizer first, Eastwood has a decent one that some DOT studies showed fairly effective at higher concentrations, it's what the plow guys around here use if they do too.

Snapped the 15 year old plastic tailgate handle today, it's always opened hard, got a new assembly on the way and get that fixed up shortly. Brakes are go for now, but I think new rotors will be in order next time around. I love 4 wheel disc, drums and me never ever got along on anything. Now that I've got the pressure washer, I'm going to hit the under side good and nail it with some kind of undercoating wherever the factory stuff is missing.

Been wanting one of these for awhile, my mother in laws cypress patio set was a good excuse to get one, 2600psi with a low pressure detergent feed, I've got a high pressure foam gun coming Monday with a full set of tips from 60 - 1 degree.

Got about 500 trouble free miles or so now, so I went ahead and spent the day with the Maguires arsenal, short of a professional paint cleaning and buffing, not sure it can get any shinier. Got a tonneau cover coming tomorrow and new tires are on the menu next week, and as expected I have become the go to uncle as we clean out my mother in laws house and get ready to close the estate. FYI, if you know anyone interested in a fully loaded 2014 Mercedes GL450, never touched by anyone but a Mercedes dealer, we apparently now own one and have no intention of keeping it, drove it to CO and back, ain't having no vehicle telling me how to drive and taking the wheel and brakes when it wants to...

A broken exhaust stud can leak O2 into the system and throw off the emission controls. I had that happen on an 82 GM. Some used vehicles are on the market to get rid of the PO's 'un-fixable' problems... Turned out to be a cracked spark plug according to the dealer, which sounds reasonable, especially if you got someone breathing down your neck to get the job done. The Sierra on the other hand has been running just fine, and I got nothing but love for this thing ") Even bought a carrier for my wife's mobility scooter so we can haul it around with us on trips where there's a lot of walking.

Leann Condition bank 1 was the first code, throttle body code was the second one, throttle body was replaced last December, suspects the plug was bad and they replaced it and it got corroded, been running all day no problems. We'll see how it goes.

Slight heart attack this morning, we took a road trip down to Ankeny yesterday, so we have about 250-300 miles on it, ran and drove perfect, no complaints at all, went to start it this morning, popped right off with a smooth idle, and then 3 dings and the warning comes up reduced engine power... Shut it off, let it set for a few seconds, same thing, did it 3 times and when I put it in gear, definite limp mode.
Called the dealer, told me to take it a shop a block over from him that handles the warranty work in town, but says it doesn't kick in for 30 days so they handle it themselves, got no reason to be distrustful at this point I guess, but on the other hand when I started it to take to the shop, the CEL comes on but no warning and it appeared to run fine with full power all the way to the shop.
Hoping it's just a simple thing, prolly sensor or computer related, thus a headache.

So when all was said and done, I was misinformed on the truck. It was an SLT, not an SLE, it has new exhaust from the manifolds back with a very pleasing growl from 6.0, it has the rear DVD player, plus two bonus points, one for each grandson, and it was just under the mileage limits for a legit 24K/2 year powertrain warranty, no rust, no dents, needs a detail, off the lot TTL for just under $9500.
After about 60 miles on an evening state park loop, I still gotta smile on my face. It will probably be on my face till I go fill it up...

That did not go well at all. Picked up the truck, got about a half mile away, about the time the temp gauge started moving and bam, any attempt at accelerating resulted in sputtering and back fire, limped it back to the dealer, the guy had left, the gal was at the counter still processing the paperwork, so I just reached out and grabbed my check and title for the trade in before she realized what I was doing and said sorry, the truck is yours and left. Guy called me about an hour later, I explained what happened and said the muffler shop must have screwed up something and pretty much that was it, I told him as long as I got my money and trade back I had no gripe with him and left it at that. So off we went shopping, and tomorrow morning at 9 we're taking a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 H/D SLE crew cab with the 6.0L gas, has high miles at 173K, but the previous owner provided meticulous service records, and the dealer ran a full diagnostic on it as, so I'm overly concerned at this point. Loaded with all the options, heated leather seats and even 4 wheel steering.
