Renewed the insurance and registration on the scooter... just in case it doesn't sell of course... man that thing runs great after a fresh tune... oddly someone ordered a backpack for a drone that could be used for instance if one were to find themselves on a scooter headed for a lake an a nice calm evening...

Put all this work into getting the scooter ready to sell, decided hey, it's 53 out, streets are wet but the snow and ice is gone, I earned a little joy ride. Had it been sunny, I'm pretty sure I would have deleted the ad and got my jacket and helmet out.

So my wife and I were discussing the problems I'm having installing trim for our winter projects and the puny nails with the dark trim rendering them invisible, especially with my eyes anymore, while shopping for replacement trim due to hammer dings and blood... and she asks don't they make some kind of cordless power nailer or something that would make it easier for me... god I love that woman

We went to Colorado in the Mercedes, using ethanol dorked our mileage 20% easily. That is consistent with the lower amount of energy in the alcohol fuel. The subsidized price differential does not make up for the decrease in mileage. I burned one tank of 87 E10 in my GMC, eco avg ran 11.3 getting 13 or better on 87 pure. Price differential is now so off kilter it's cheaper to burn ethanol by a penny or two, worth it to me to not support the "farmer" in my neighborhood, $450,000 house on an exclusive cul de sac, averages more in farm welfare each year than a combat soldier earns.

Actually it wasn't the previous administration, it was the previous administrations, and the sole purpose of ethanol is to provide a mandated market for welfare driven over production of corn and soybeans, just as subsidized sales to China are. Most Americans don;t realize our $500 billion trade deficit with China is largely there to appease the ag industrial complex in America and that money doesn't spread as far or as much as they want you to think.

For free, I acquired a used rain collection system consisting of two industrial poly tanks with lids, 100 and 150 gallons respectively. The 150 will be used as a rain barrel next year for gardening, augmented by the sump output, and the 100 gallon, after power washing and re-plumbing, now sits in my basement collecting RO water. I installed a ball valve and 3/4" hose barb, I have a pump coming tomorrow, I'll go from the tank to the pump, and from the pump to a standard hose bib. I'll have a heater and small pump in the tank itself to keep the water ready for changes.

I actually got out yesterday and today for a few leisurely rides along the river to soak in some fall color, and essentially wiped all thought of selling it out of my mind and replaced it thoughts of tune ups and perhaps at least a new head and valves.

the weather forecast for beggar's night says the t-rex costume is a no go, so we have a brand new Deadpool costume coming in the mail, I think there might have to be a ride on the scooter in costume...

We operated on his spine again and gave him a splint, good as new, and he seems well pleased with the dragon skull we found for his scooter ")
