never machine a nikasil bore top as the nikasil is lapped over the top to keep it from flaking off. Thats very good to know! Have the same problems with my metrakit 70cc!

Squish is at .30mm so im thinking a base gasket under the spacer I made would put it around .7mm

I've got some S6 base gaskets at home. I'll check what thicknesses and let you know.

I've got a S6 MkII paper gasket. It's .54mm. Don't have any aluminum shims to spare but they come in varying thicknesses from S6. I also have a Hoca 47 mm gasket that came with an o-ring from partsforscooters.com. It could be trimmed to match if you needed an o-ring also.

Only way ive gotten more than one to work is if i glued them together and let it set before even using it.
If it were me and its not gonna settle anymore ide try .3mm if its a 70cc race engine. My 95cc is set at .4mm now.
Edit: Drag race engine...

nope its a daily driver. so i wana keep it loose. For sure then! Why not run a gasket on each side of the spacer John? Ive done so.. With the proper torque specs and a good, new gasket i dont think this is a problem. Also, even though its a o-ring head, you can ditch the o-ring for a .50mm copper head gasket and it will seal

Heck, its worth a try..I'd recheck the head torque a couple times just to make sure its not settling..
