Prob also because you're in the UK Paul. Here the Yaris is a 1.5L with just over 100HP that gets a quoted 30/37MPG. The only cars I know of here that claim around your 50-60MPG are hybrids. On the line of thought for good fuel economy, i think it would be cool to score an old subcompact (metro, etc) and swap out the motor for a 900cc 3 cylinder kubota diesel (the motor they put in their UTVs). I have seen it done one time with that engine and a metro, it was underpowered for mountains but great for around town, did 70mph or so, and was pulling almost 80mpg fuel economy. It wouldnt pass inspection in states that do emissions testing, but in states without, the fuel economy would be through the roof!

My daily is a 91 Sonoma that the 2.8 was swapped for a 3.4 I hopped up out of a 95 camaro.
My toys are
87 s10 blazer with an old 5.7(looking for a 4.8 or crossing my fingers I can find a duramax 2.8 when they come out). I had swapped under a Dana 30 front and ford 8.8 rear axels but I tore that apart to build a frame with Dana 60 front and rear with linked suspension on airbags.
78 nova rally but I blew the 5.7 in it racing. Looking for a good 6.0 ls engine for it. Its set up as a street legal (barely)dragster
I just picked up a 93 4 door 2wd s10 blazer with no engine but a neighbor has already offered me double what I gave for it so it might not be here long enough for a v8 swap.

2000 grand marquis with 4.6 liter sohc with p.I intake, converted dual exhaust and floor shifter from a Lincoln Continental and console with 03 mercury marauder instrument cluster with tach, with 3.55 locker rear out a 99 c.v police interceptor, gas milage"shitty" but fun too drive, was thinking about getting a 5.4 liter supercharged out a wrecked ford lighting when the 4.6 liter gives up,which isn't gone be a while cause this motor has only 142k on it now!!!

That sounds like a sweet car Jwhood. I used to drive an '87 Grand Marquis with a 5.0 and a '94 Town Car with a 4.6. Always wanted to hop one up, but I had the Mustang so it never happened. It's pretty fun having a car a bunch of people can ride in and very comfortably and driving like a jerk... and should be a blast with some power. Even stock the Lincoln surprised some Hondas on the highway. lol

They got them from ford that way. According to the factory guy i talked to they are good for 155 to 160 when they leave the factory but after 6 months in the hands of a Texas trooper when ford gets them back they will run 173. Just unreal and Texas isn't doing anything to them but beating the living dog crap out of them. Ford sent an engineer down to diagnose why they were having transmission trouble so he hooked up all his data recording stuff and was going to ride with a trooper for a few weeks. He lasted 3 hours and refused to get back in the car and came back to Detroit said he would go back and collect data when the time was over. I guess all was fine till the cop spun the car around at over 120 on a 2 lane. Them Texas troopers can drive. Years ago i was down there in a big sweeping turn at about 120 in a drift and meet a DPS trooper going the other way at about the same speed in a drift in a Mustang. He hit the parking brake pinned it around and blew the rear tires up in smoke in this 2 lane sweeping curve. I thought he was done when he went backwards into the tire smoke but in a few seconds he came back out sideways rowing the 5 speed. I was in shock and impressed lol. Problem was i was already running. Awkward conversation followed. Got wrote for 120 in a 45. The ticket only cost $65. 2 days later in a different town i got a 30 in a 25 that cost 150. Go figure. The huffed crown Vic's have a bump in the hood for clearance. Sent from my SPH-L720 using proboards

I drive an 01 Monte Carlos SS with the 3.8 NA. I have the computer and turbo from a turbocharged Buick same engine. I just need to get someone with a Tech2 to flash my VIN so I can use it.
I have another 86 Plymouth Duster I'm trying to get back together too. 2.2 turbo four banger with a 5spd from a Dodge Colt. Had one years ago, and it was just *nasty* for what it was.
