Nice rebuild!
Keep in mind that Labor should be a minimum of $200 per day, not including parts. So a flip should be at least 3-4x the price of what you got it for. That's the tough part about flipping and getting into something that you really don't know how bad it will be until you tear down the engine. So always do your best to haggle the price down as much as possible on the initial buy.
$150 profit is way to low for the amount of work you put in. A shop would have probably charged about $1000-1500 for the amount of work you did. If it's running good now, I wouldn't take any less then $800. You could try Pricing it at $1000 or Best Offer.

That makes business since but we do this because we enjoy it. So the question is how much enjoyment did Niz get out of this project and what the enjoyment is worth. Add that to the couple hundred bucks he will make for parts to turn into more enjoyment. Rock on Brother Niz and good luck with the flip$$$$

Thank goodness I'm not doing this to make a living! Like 2TDave said, it's a hobby and I enjoy it. It doesn't pay to take the time and post our projects on here for others to see either, yet we do it. I knew exactly what I was getting into with this scoot, and for the most part, it's gone as expected. I probably could've simply fixed the cylinder and re-sold it running for a better hour/pay ratio, but that isn't what this was about. I enjoy creating. Probably why I gravitated toward the building/remodeling work I do- I enjoy refurbishing things and bringing them back to life. It makes me happy to look at this little scoot now. It will also make me happy to know the new owner is getting a good clean reliable scoot for a good price. I'm not quitting my day job just yet haha.

If I had the facilities to do this, I'm sure I'd be in the same boat as you, Niz. But I dove into this foolishly I think. So having the Baccio go to someone else for work, I sort of feel robbed of the joy. But I also feel better knowing that it's somewhere where it can get the proper attention, even if it takes a little time at least it's not my frustration of having to clean everything up and put everything away each time I mess with something. THIS is when I hate not having a house or garage of my own to work in. I commend you for what you're doing. I wish I could be the new owner, just for a matter of pride. I think it's awesome what you're doing and also awesome by offering a good price for it!

Lol stupid internet. I'm happy the scoot is almost done, but it's kinda like when you're reading a really good book and you're somewhat depressed when getting to the last few pages. On one hand, you're excited to see the payoff at the end, but on the other- it's almost over. But, there's always another good book to read... You wouldn't believe the mess my garage is in! I tend to keep it neat and organized, but I haven't cleaned up since the 90cc build on my scoot and it's trashed! haha. It'll be good to take a break for a bit and get things back to "normal". There's not much to do on my scoot- it's running top notch. There's only so many new posts to read here... What the heck am I gonna do? Maybe I'll paint my scoot some more...

Then again, there's a crashed Zuma for $200 by me still for sale... DDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude. If I had a garage, it would be like a bomb went off in there right now. I'd have my Baccio completely apart and happy to rebuild it. I envy you, bro. I live in a 1 bedroom apt with a utility room that doubles as my garage. Well, it holds the washer, dryer, tools and such too. I just have to drag all the tools and stuff out everytime I need to do work, only to drag them back in. I do most of my own work on my car. Anything from a motor mount to an alternator to replacing exhaust gaskets to valve cover gaskets, oil changes, brakes, cutting my neighbors catalitic converter out and bypassing it. Blah. But yeah dude, it's a pain. But that work gets done in a day max and everything has to be put back together. The scoot stuff, that takes time. I read posts like yours and Dave's and think of how peaceful it would be to have something apart, tinker with it and go to bed knowing that it's all right there where you left off. Yes, it's the little things that I dream of in life. lol

I know the feeling of having one day max. My scoot is my only current transportation to work and I've spent way too many late nights trying to get it back together so I have a ride to work in the morning- well I have a (e)bike, but that just sucks lol. But, yah it is nice to be able to leave my mess for another day

I hear you on the Enjoyment part. Thats how I got into what I do as Metal fabricator ans Artist. But that begins to fade after a few builds and you still end up with a collection of Bills piling up and nothing for yourself but a bunch of spare parts. When you make a profit on a flip, that doesn't mean you can't still sell it to someone for a good fair price who would love to have a nice reliable scoot. The buyer will appreciate you not taking them like a Dealer would and they have the reassurance that they can always come back to you for more mods or repairs. Plus its still your creation which you will always have in your portfolio of builds. Thats where your worth starts to add up, in your portfolio of what you've built and what you can do to these things that the average person wouldn't even think of. As you begin to make a few bucks for your time and your creation, it gives you the leisure to start making and building "Your Dream Build", and not always building other peoples Dream builds at your expense for free. Just to give you an idea that I know what it means to have the love of building something but also being paid for what your worth. I've had and built almost every Motorcycle I can think of. My friends make fun of me for playing around with this 50cc Scoot, and all I tell them is, "It doesn't matter if its 50cc or 1300cc, a Real Rider makes the most of any ride!" Back to the Flip, Sorry for the Hijack. Niz76, Your flip came out Great! I look forward to seeing what you come up with on your next project. Keep thinking outside the box.

Finally got some daylight hours today and got the pics taken and the Craigslist ad up. I usually make a youtube video and link to it in my craigslist ad, but I just wanted to get the ad up ASAP for the saturday scooter shoppers. once I get the vid made and uploaded I'll post a link here too. Here's the ad: HERE. Since I delete my craigslist ads immediately after sale, and the screenshot doesn't show the whole ad, I've copied the pics and description here : I am selling my 2009 Vento Zip R3i Turbocam 49cc scooter. This scooter runs perfect and is CLEAN! If you know anything about scoots you know that a 2T (2 stroke) scooter is the most desirable. They're getting harder to find since most new scooters sold are 4 pokes (4 strokes). I am a scooter hobbyist and I love this little Vento Zip. It has the 2t Minarelli Horizontal motor 1E40QMB that we "scooter tuners" love. Driving one of those underpowered 4 stroke TaoTao's can be downright dangerous on these FLA roads. This Zip 2t will get you through the intersection faster and keep up with traffic better which is great thing when riding your scoot. I drive my scoot every day back and forth to work as it's great cheap transportation and just plain fun! I love filling my gas tank and getting change back for a $5 bill. No insurance needed or motorcycle endorsement required. Stress free! Scoot gets about 75 mpg. and goes around 40mph per the speedo. Oil injected so no mixing required- just gas and go. No oil changes or valve adjustments required like a 4 stroke either. Now you see why we love this Vento Zip so much? A couple performance parts and you can have a 60mph screamin scooter here if you're into that sort of thing. Scooter runs great, very reliable. Has electric start and kick start. Has a ton of storage as the front opens up as well as the seat bucket as you can see in pics. Well maintained and very clean! Most scoots require some things to be upgraded as they aren't that great from the factory such as fuel lines and vac lines etc. This has all been done already! This scoot is "pre tuned" for you. Clean title in hand. Scoot is ready for it's new owner. It's been suggested that I shouldn't take any less than $800, but I'm ready to sell it quickly so $500. Firm. No trades please. Have someone drop you off and drive it home! Feel free to contact me anytime I am a night owl so calls up to 11pm are ok. I prefer a text first as I'm usually working and phone calls are frowned upon and I rarely check my voicemail. Text or email preferred first.. Happy scootin! Let me know if you guys have any feedback on what I might add to the description etc. to sell it!

I might need a scooter intervention fellas. I have the ad up, but I'm having some bad thoughts hehe. I really like this little scooter now, and I've only got $240 invested into it... it would be nice to have a backup scoot... I have a 90cc crank, cylinder, and piston sitting on the shelf... on this light little scoot... Oh man this disease has bit me hard lol.

Holy crap- 5 mins on Craigslist and already someone texting me about it... wanting it for $400... I told them I'm pretty firm on the $500...
EDIT: I told him maybe in a week or so if it doesn't sell I may consider the $400... he said his offer would still stand so nice to know there's at least one buyer already that I could contact later to see if he's still interested...
