With this build,I'd say purchase a whole new kit. That way all these variables go to nothing.. Also, yes a flat top piston will have a different head profile which would need to be remachined for a domed piston.Thats a crappy combustion chamber design anyway! Thanks that's pretty much what I was thinking. $130 for the hoca kit isn't bad and I'd like to try something new. I thought it was, I was reading how domed pistons allow for more compression while flat top pistons are machined that way because they are mass produced and cheaper. Thanks all for the help! no idea when I will get a new BBK, but I know I can install it easily now this time (and with the head the right way)

I looked at the Hoca kit,has a cast iron cylinder, waaay tougher than Nikasil with piston seizures, easier to port too if you ever want to go there!Head has a better combustion chamber design also..

So glad these guys chimed in with better info for you Electrey- I'm the wrong one to ask when it comes to this precision stuff- I do stuff like mix and match pistons and cylinders without checking ring gaps and throw shot out 49cc heads on 90cc engines etc. lol. Real caveman stuff!

I just need something that is sure to be a solution in my case. 190mech how do you think that aliexpress kit would run compared to the hoca kit? and both compared to the stage6 I had?

That is the kit I have and I get that tapping sound from the bbk from alieexpress ,its good quality but I just could not figure out where the tapping sound is coming from!! I had a loud tapping sound from my Naraku bbk too. I couldnt find out what was making the sound either. I had also put a new crank and bearings in so I thought it cant be coming from there. I though it might have been the metal reed petal so I replaced it with fiber ones but it still made the tapping sound . The sound doesn't happen with the 50cc kit. It could be the needle bearing as niz76 posted as there isn't much left to check .
Cheers Pete.

Is there no squish band on the head?

I filed the edges of ports so rings didn't catch, also kit doesn't come with a wrist pin bearing but does come with wrist pin,no squish band at all just gaskets!!

Exhaust port looks very small for a 47mm jug, piston quality kinda sketchey too..
