This SMC scoot does have it's luxuries. Look at this nicely carpeted under-seat storage!

I "hand honed" the cylinder like I learned from a 190mech post. I used 220 grit. I know some say that's a little too course but this is like the 3rd time I've used this trick and it always seems to do the trick!

I ordered the oil seal and bearing I need to make the drive gear I have work. Bearing: 42x17x12 $10.00 and oil seal 44x17x7 $7.00 so I'm up to $23.00 spent and this will allow mr to keep the SMC wheels and tires on the SMC scoot where they belong!

Holy restriction batman! Look at this drive boss lol. I must say I've read many times about restricted drive boss's, but this is the first time I've actually seen one.

Well I've gone round and round in circles racking my brain as to how to make this longcase clone motor work with this small splined wheel. I've tried every different combination and solution I can think of and in the end the cheapest and easiest way for me to solve this problem was to order a new oil seal and bearing so I can use the SMC drive shaft gear in the longcase clone motor. I'll have to swap the rear wheels on these scoot for now until those parts come in and I can put it back to the way it's supposed to be..

I got the motor pulled out and up on the bench. What I can see is pretty depressing. Here's a look at what I found when I pulled the intake off: One question; WHY?? lol I took the reed block off and took a good look inside with a flashlight. It looked like there was liquid down in the bottom of the case so flipped the whole motor upside down to drain it. I got a bunch of debris and metal flakes... With the reed block off it was much easier to hear the grinding inside. There's a lot of play on the big end of the rod. I could see some gray stuff down inside the bottom of the motor so I took a screwdriver and scooped a bit of it out. It's basically a metal slurry. I got a bum motor on this one.

Should've got that italjet those are sweet, morini motor but most likely it would've had a decent motor,I beat the piss out many tgb scooters and they have the same motor as the italjet just different motor mount location's, you might've been able too sell it upwards of $1000 in the end, they where only imported over in the u.s for like 4 years too so they're rare, good luck with your new build too niz!!!

I was planning on getting the Benelli Andretti M50 today too, but it'll put me a little tight on money and this one is turning out to be more work than I planned... I might still get it.

I didn't split the cases to inspect. But, yeah it's shot. A good candidate for another 90cc build...

I like to get little "bonuses" when flipping these scoots. It makes the deal a little sweeter for me and helps to offset the small profit/hours ratio. Plus my scoot benefits from getting all the good parts from different scoots! I've been eyeballing this SMC exhaust and it's destined to end up on my scoot. It's pipe seems better suited for my 90cc as it gets progressively larger in steps. Still a stock 50cc pipe but hey, I'll take what I can get lol. Here's a shot of it next to my 50cc pipe that I've been running on my 90cc motor. Better no? SOLD hehe it's going on my scoot! The SMC scoot will get the smaller silver 'Silverstone' exhaust that I've already painted up nice.

2 Stroke Smoke! Got the clone longcase in and my tire plus the silverstone exhaust. She fired right up- which I had no doubt. This is the original 49cc engine from my Roketa AIR.

The rims are a little rusty and that's no good for resale value. I gave the rims a good scuffing and cleaning and got them all prepped for paint! My patented drying system: I debated back and forth whether I wanted to go with the stock looking siver color or I always seems to like the pics of scoots with white rims. In the end I did both. I gave them a base coat of white and then a thin layer of the silver w/metal flake to give very light silver color. Still looks pretty much stock but nicer since the little metal flake adds a bit of bling I got the gears changed out in my scoot so i could donate my back tire for awhile until parts arrive and mounted the small spline tire on my scoot. Looks kinda good. Sporty! The SMC exhaust won't fit without modding the bracket so I figured that's another project for another day... I thought the Adly gears were going to give me an 8:1 ratio but after a quick check it's 10:1. Weird. Maybe I mixed different gears together. I dunno. They're all mixed together in a plastic bag. I mounted the freshly painted wheel on the SMC scoot and now I've got a running driveable scooter. I have a rear airbox hanging off the side of the carb right now as that's one of the things I ordered. I managed to chooch up a bit of my paint job getting the front disk back into the caliper but should be easy enough to fix. I realized after I finally got the tire in right that the damn front fender needs to go on with the shaft as the shaft runs through it. Strange design. I didn't feel like pulling the tire back off tonight and after looking at it for a bit with the front fender off, I might just leave it off. Looks kinda good without it.
