Flip #2: $200 Super Powerline "SMC Vino 50" 2T

Time for another flip! 
  So the "Zip Flip" went pretty smooth and I made a little cake off it ($260 "profit") so I'm jumping in again with two feet into a 2T flip! 
I had a bunch of parts for the Zip Flip from a $50 parts scoot I bought a while back. This time I don't have a parts scoot to back me up. Can I do it again? Only time will tell....
  My subject for this flip is a 2T scoot I found on Craigslist. It's an obscure scoot that I'd never seen before and the seller didn't even list the Make or Model in his ad. I went off the "Super Powerline" stickers on the scoot and did a google image search. I drilled down through a few of the pages and still can't really nail down the name of this scoot. Most info I found was in foreign languages. A Danish page calls this scoot an SMC "Vino 50". So I guess it's a Vino? Somehow through my research I deduced that this scoot uses the 2t Minarelli motor, and that's all I really needed to know!
   If anybody has any additional info on this scoot I'd love to hear it!

 My first impressions? I like this scoot in person better than I thought I would.
So far I've just rolled the scoot into the garage and looked it over a bit and snapped some pics for you all! I noticed while checking it out that the seller just has a piece of filter material rubber banded over the intake side of the carb- no air box to be found. Maybe this is why it won't start? IDK. I don't even know if it has spark yet... Another thing I noticed is the engine code #. I haven't found it yet. I don't think I have anyway, there's simply a 7 digit number where "1e40qmb" usually is. Hmmm...

  That adjustable rear shock just might find it's way onto my Air50 hehe.



So what do y'all think? Can I make some money? I'm hoping to work the gremlins out and get her running pretty quickly. Also hoping that I don't get any big surprises like a bad crank or something like that..
  I kinda like this scoot. It's big and beefy and seems well built- my kinda scoot!
I'm hoping someone out there will have some more info on this mystery Minarelli too. I'd love to know more about it.

speedo goes up to 60MPH thats nice

looks like a decent underappreciated machine from the looks

CVT cover off. It's eerily clean inside there. All screws and gasket perfectly intact. I'm guessing I'm the first person to ever take the CVT cover off of this 2001 scoot. Weird.
  There's no support bearing for the clutch. I was reading in a (Dutch?) forum last night and they showed a Minarelli just like this. The writer was saying that this is about as close as you can get to a "true" Minarelli motor... I have no idea of the validity of that claim. Stock Bando belt yet again.

I keep finding the weird stuf haha. The belt's a 747-16-30. The tire is a 130/70-12. Gear ratio looks to be 14.5:1. WTH? Is thing geared like a Zuma?

I wondered about that. The thing looks shortcase but is long i thought it was a small 10 inch wheel but when you showed the cvt it looks like the Zuma. If you get a chance I'm curious of the drum size the Zuma used a big drum like 130 mm compared to 110 for the clones. That gear ratio sucks.

Sucks is right! The vari has the belt mark way far away from the edge- was this doing 25mph?? I'll check that drum size for sure when I get deeper in.
Spark is good. Compression test not so good- 70psi Another interesting thing: the cooling fan looks like the big 90cc four bolt style...

That sounds like adly crap. Adly uses a 4t flywheel and stator with some abomination of plug and 2t mount. The 4t flywheel is 4 bolt fan the 2t is 3 bolt

It looks like my Zuma the early one's had 14.64 gears the latter 13.25. The adly had the clutch behind the axel with shortcase gears but that doesn't look like shortcase clone plus the adly used a 870? Or there abouts belt. The Zuma used a 737 or somewhere in there belt. How far is it from the engine mount bolt to axel center to center? The Zuma is shorter than the long case clone

Lol yeah i swapped the flywheel and stator out of my 90cc Adly and put the "normal" Zip stator and flywheel on. I still have the Adly stator, flywheel, and 4 bolt fan sitting under the workbench.

I think the cylinder in this SMC is "four cornered"

Sand the corners ( tight spots on the piston) a little bead hone the cylinder and ring it if needed how is the compression?

The parts zip piston and cylinder were wasted by a needle bearing. The only 49cc cylinder i have is the one with messed up exhaust threads from zip flip... I "hand honed" the SMC cylinder and am putting the old piston and rings from my old Baccio in... with any luck I'll get decent compression with no $$ spent.
