Phew what a relief. I took a big risk when buying this scoot. It didn't have a title! The owner said he never got a title and the Bill of Sale on the registration is how you transfer ownership. I knew this wasn't true, but wasn't the first time I'd heard this and desperately wanted to solve this title riddle I keep hearing of. So I handed over the $200 and he promised to meet me at the DMV if in fact I did figure out he needed a title. A big risk I know, but for $200 I took it. With the signed registration in hand I was able to call the DMV (called "Tax Collector" in FL) and give them the VIN to get to the bottom of the title mystery. Sure enough and true to his word there never was a title issued to this scoot and in fact it didn't need a title to be registered... 10 years ago! The law changed in 2004 and now all 49cc scoots must be titled. Cost $85 to get the title produced, printed, and in my hand. (I split the bill with the PO and payed $45). Apparantly they can do the same thing with out-of-state scoots that never had a title provided the named individual is there for the transaction. Of course I just had the seller sign the title and leave the rest blank and said "I'll fill the rest in myself later". This saves me the time and $$ of transferring scoot to me and this is how I sell it.

..."All the kings horses and all the kings men"... After fiddling with the oil pump for a while to get it primed and working, I got the scoot back together again! Wow this thing sits really high. I have to be on my tip toes just to reach the ground. I think I'm going to adjust the adjustable shock or possibly put a shorter shock on if I have one as it just seems awkwardly high. She starts and idles beautifully but when I went to take her for a spin she spit and sputtered and wouldn't go over 1/8th throttle. I put the snorkel back in the (wrong) airbox and it got better, but is still cutting out. I'm thinking I could have a float issue. A re-jet is probably in order too. I have a rear airbox zip tied and hanging off the side of the carb for now until the correct forward intake airbox arrives. In the tone of Hans and Frans: "Now it is time to tune".

Aha another clue about this mysterious scoot. I found this sticker under the rear tail. So it's not a Chinese made POS... Value just went up lol.

I think a 2 Stroke non-chinese is easily worth a good amount all day just based on that.

I think I got spoiled by partforscooters lol. If I order from them on a Sunday I get parts by Tue... No such luck on my ebay parts though. The oil seal will be further delayed since the seller sent me a msg. saying they didn't have the size I ordered in stock but offered a different size that will work fine. Did some beautificatin'! I was going to try the method that Upgrayedd suggested that involves heating the plastic with a heat gun till it gets shiny, but I got skeerd and just stuck with paint. Before: After: I painted the cluster trim in the same metalflake as I did the rims in- bling! I also fixed the broken starter button and painted the brake levers and control parts so there's no more scratches or dings- looks clean!

I like this scoot better than the Zip- my daughter got attached to that one- and I keep looking at it next to mine... looks good...big and beefy like I like em'....has an engine that I know and trust...I have family coming down in a month and it'd be cool to have two scoots to ride... lol the list goes on. Eventually I will find a scoot that I just can't live without and keep it for myself. Until then I'll just keep findin em and flippin em!
