SOLD!!
Ok, they bent me a little... the girl was really cute- she wanted the scooter to get her son away from video games lol. After literally begging me to take $500- I ended up taking $550. Might take me a few flips to be a calloused seller haha.
I'll figure out the rough #'s and post them in a bit. The bottom line: Bought for $200. Put $85 into parts and title work. Sacrificed a good running motor to swap for a dead one. Sold for $550- Yep- glad I don't do this for a living haha.
Already have my eye on the next victim!! It's the Benelli Andretti M50. It's still on CL. I'll check it out and see if my research is confirmed and it does have a 2t Minarelli... I am also considering my first 4T purchase. O dear! lol it's a TaoTao Thunder for $300. Looks good and runs good- i can make it look better and run better (I hope) and sell it for more.... Updates coming!

Ty Ty! I almost pulled the trigger on an '08 Zuma in nice shape. Was gonna do $500 cash and my 36v ebike. I passed for now just because that's pretty much my whole scoot budget and I worry that a $900 to 1k scoot will take much longer to sell... any opinions??

I have 2 4t's sitting on my patio. No title but good for parts if you're interested? Hmm I do forsee a 4T scoot in my future... just to get my hands dirty and figure out what makes a 4t tick... would open my flip options up a lot too. Might just be hearing from me about some parts if you still got 'em!

The only thing I may do is take the coil/wire off of one and test my coil/wire on my M1. I think it's crappy and something that should be replaced. I thought of taking the valve cover off too, if I'm not mistaken these don't have the PAIR system on them. They are sitting on the patio partially covered though so I can't tell till I can get to them. They are small frame too, great for quick little zippers.

08 Zuma has good gears (13.25:1) straight groove td 3 shoe 107mm clutch but a cat in the pipe and restricted throttle travel and capped A/F screw. The gears aren't perfect but they are better than the 14.64:1 the 05 and older had

When the price goes up it takes longer but $900-$1000 is what I see most Zumas selling for. I don't think you'd have it too long. I've had a couple $1200 offers but I won't take them for mine. It's just to damn nice. So I ride it around the neighborhood once a week.

The right buyer for your better than new Zuma will eventually come along... Got an interesting phone call from the scooter buyer earlier... First he wanted to know where to change the oil haha. I explained to him how the 2t oil system works. Then he started asking me about the parts and whether or not there were any performance parts on it... hmm wasn't quite sure where this was going... He had let his buddy ride the SMC scoot that had just bought a 4T VIP scooter and he wanted to know why this scoot was so fast lol. We had a good conversation (as I was driving to pick up the newest flip ) and seems I might have a couple customers on my hands hehe. He wants to bring his scoot over so I can check it out and help him with performance upgrades!

Since I sold the scoot today- my "scooter $$ envelope" is full again and I'm always on the hunt for my next flip. I called on the Benelli Andretti and the guy still has it, but won't be back into town until Sunday. Well I'm not the type to sit around and wait so.... I got my next flip already! It's a Her-Chee Adly Phoenix 50. Look for a new Flip post soon!

Well I sold this scoot a while back and the buyer lives close to me and has texted me a few times with questions- no big deal but just yesterday he said it's making a noise in the transmission and the rear tire will barely move and practically begged me to look at it- he took it to 2 different scoot places and nobody will work on Chinese scoots as they say they can't get parts.... I was a bit hesitant to have him bring it to me and explained that it didn't really come with a warranty... but I begrudgingly decided to work on it as I felt kinda bad for the guy- he just wants to ride his scoot and has only owned it for a few weeks now. He wasn't being a jerk or mad at me for selling him a scoot with a problem (it was A-ok when he bought it) and I also had that little voice in the back of my mind; "Is there something wrong with the bearing and oil seal I put in it?" "Maybe it's my fault something is wrong?"... People tell me I can look intimidating -who me? - but I really am a softie- and too nice for my own good sometimes. I agreed to take a look but informed him that he would need to buy parts if any were needed... Sigh- so the SMC's back in my garage again. I opened up the transmission and am happy to report that my drive shaft and oil seal and bearing are just fine! phew I'm glad I don't have that on my conscience haha. Sure enough there was a problem in the transmission- The support bearing for the output shaft is wasted! It's a common bearing and I ordered it from Partsforscooters.com for $9.98 shipped. I called the scoot owner and gave him the good news that it's just a bearing failure and it would only cost him 10 bucks and I'd install it for free and he'd have his scooter 30 mins. after the part arrived-but I also informed him that the "Mr. Nice Guy Warranty Period" was over and next time he'd have to pay me to work on it haha. So yeah- I'm too nice for my own good but also glad my conscience is clear and it wasn't anything I did to mess it up... Maybe we'll all go for a scoot ride when it's done. Gettin' a lil' crazy in my garage!!
