You are correct but the issue with that is a person tried swapping gears and did not get it seated all the way. If you look close you can even see that that output shaft is ruined. He gawd the sealing surface all up somehow. The way it looks its like someone did it on purpose..That line runs almost all the way around the shaft.
I will pay the shipping both ways as it is my honest mistake. I can either pp you the money to ship it to me now, or pay you back when i ship the other cover and output shaft?

Either way works for me honestly. So whatever is easiest for you to do. So I should box up the shaft and the cover correct? I really do appreciate you trying to make it right. In this day and age thats a major rarity.

No problem. Yes, just pack up he shaft and cover and i will get you the ones needed. If you can just pay for shipping now and i will send it back with the parts. Just easier that way IMO.

Every once in a while I'll do a google search on something- say "pipe building" and see the really old posts from y'all- from another forum- I'm assuming before 49ccscoot was around... gave me a little look into the roots of 49ccscoot- pretty cool.

Thats very much the truth. Anytime I search for info I come across this site and now I'm starting to see its certain members here that pretty much always come up and thats the reason I made my account here. I do laugh sometimes though when I'm looking for info and come across my posts. Halfway because Google's slacking tellin me what I said and halfway because it seems like uncharted territory with some of it. Hence why I try and post everything so people later on down the road have something too look up instead of just dead ends.

We finally got this issue sorted out. The spacing is a tad different between the CPI trans cover and the other. chehy actually had the right output shaft for that engine, just not the right one for the CPI cover. When i got it home and pulled the right cover off i could see right away. I slid the CPI shaft into the other cover and it went in too far.. Used the output i sent Ian to begin with and it was right on. So again folks, keep all the subtle diffs between Minarelli engines in mind when building one. Do your homework and research as much as possible before you dive in. And most of all, be well prepared! Ive seen too many people now take apart there one and only engine for a "build" and they need the scooter the next day to go to work or school This is not the case here, just sayin.. Some pics help explain.. You can see differences in these two covers but yet with the correct parts combo it could be made to work on most all longcase mina,s Support bearing for the driveshaft is in the one cover as you can see. If you have or can get a driveshaft like this with the correct gear count you can utilize that bearing. Ive also seen factory sealed engines with missing bearings in the trans, or there will be a support bearing and no "nub" on the driveshaft. Etc, etc.. Nothing surprises me in these engines. Be prepared to come across new things that havent been discovered and documented like Brent does such a good job with! Cudo,s to 90GT for that!

I wonder if the cases with the extra trans bearing are also the ones that dont have the bearing support in the cvt cover possibly? It seems like that would make for one sturdy cvt and trans if you could use all 3 bearings on the input shaft.
