Ya should check the valve lash and take a peek at the cam chain/adjuster while youre in there,,bumping up the timing and raising the jet needle perks these turds up a bit..

Awesome! thanks for the info 190mech! That reminds me- I need to spend some time in the 4t tech section- but what's a good range of feeler gauges to check these 4t's? Or more specifically- what tools should I have for the 4t's?

I like that body style didn't know you could get it in 4t Sent from my SPH-L720 using proboards Although I'll need to pull them back off when the lock set comes, I have all the plastics back on and been cruising the neighborhood with this scoot. I must say it has a nice feel with plenty of leg room- really hard seat though- and the front leg shield is perfect for stretching your legs and being comfortable..

Yep those seats suck! After a couple miles my arse would be hurting and I'd be moving around trying to get comfortable. Not a great thing at 60 mph. Since I changed the foam and cover I haven't thought about the seat until now.

Pick up a set that goes down to 0.002". Set the TaoTao at 0.002-0.0025" IN / 0.0025-0.003" EX. The range is about from 0.0019" up to 0.005", but 0.002-0.003" I think will work well for most. Other than the feeler gauges, a 9mm wrench is nice and a small pair of pliers or vise grips. Some take a screw that takes a square bit that fits over the adjuster and bend it 90 degrees so it functions as a holding tool. Another thing you'll need for the 4T is a different flywheel puller (M24x1.0 RH).

It's a huge difference getting off of a 2T and onto a stock 4T. It's hard to complain about 80-90MPG though. I rode around for about an hour and a half last night for $1.11 worth of premium and that's WOT basically everywhere and from every stop. I know 4t's have their advantages but it's fun to knock 'em haha. I basically just had dumb luck as a scoot noob and bought a 2t as my first scoot. I've thoroughly enjoyed my 2t's but I'm an open-minded guy so I'm giving this 4 poke a shot lol. It is a nice quiet runner and I can't help to be reminded of an ATV when I hear it run. But now I know why I see those TaoTao guys over in the bicycle lane- this stock 4t would be scary in traffic! I'll be honest, I'm kind of excited to have both to work on. The 4t as it was stock ran my fat self at 37mph, not too bad if you ask me. I haven't touched a thing, engine/vari wise but I'm already planning to attack it soon. The 2t has yet to really wow me yet, but I do notice it is better at the bottom end and all. They both have their ups and downs, so maybe it's not so bad to get familiar with both. The sad thing is I feel almost more comfortable with the 4t because it makes more sense to me, having worked on cars so much and all. There's just a lot less pumps, pulleys and extra limbs to it. YOU CAN DOOO EEETTTT!!!!

Weird I looked and didn't see it. She had two ads one for $500 and this one for $600. I guess with it being customized for half the people on earth and a tenth of scooter riders it more valuable. Lol

Key set went in eazy peazy. I was hoping the new switch would iron out the electrical issues this thing has- there seemed to be a short in the key switch as some times the dash wouldn't light up etc. until I fiddled with it. It appears I have another issue now that needs to be addressed- the brake switches. Dang it- wish I would've taken a closer look at them- it was hard to tell what was functional with the short in the system. The starter button doesn't work and neither does the horn. Blinkers work though. I put a jumper wire in each of the micro brake switches and sure enough the starter button works. The extra switches I have from the parts Zip won't fit so I'll have to order these too now. Dangit. They're only $5 each but I'm itching to get this scoot out of my garage haha.
